Just depends on what you are into. Its superrrrrr choppy on the weekend so you can forget wakeboarding unless you know the lake really really well and know where to go. If youre into the party scene, well theres muscamoot (see below) and gull island.

I'd sure hate to be one of those boats up by the beach and then have to leave mid-afternoon when all the drunks are buzzed up

If youre one of the people up on the shore, you understand youre not going home until sunday evening, its pretty well understood by most. Its funny too because that bottom picture is only half the island...

I live 20 minutes from there, and have never taken my boat. Is really shallow in a lot of spots. Great party lake, I go out on a friends jet boat or other friends 50 footers a few times a year, but never take my own boat.

I've never been there but both Torch and Crystal Lakes are supposed to be awesome but they are much farther North. If you're going that far North, I think Burt Lake is incredible. It's about 20k acres of crystal clear water. You can always find smooth water at any time of day. Very peaceful...

Also check out Clear Lake in Atlanta, Michigan. Lake is 100 feet deep and you can see allllll the way down to the bottom.
