Anyone else have black footprints on boat seats in their Moomba from the black "rubber" swim platform? Very hard to remove too!!

Untill i get around to replacing with Seadec as many on hear have done,i've clearcoated mine with spray laquer and problem solved at least temporary anyway. It does make it slippery but footprints stop as well.
Seadec is the better solution but this does work.

FYI, your Seadek pad order can take 4-6 weeks. Your CC will not be charged till the order is ready. If you want it, order it right away. Good luck!

I changed mine to seadek.....no more foot print problems now. And it looks way better. I did a 2 tone with Moomba on it.

    Default What is seadeck?

What is seadeck and why do I have to fix/replace after just 2 summers?

www.seadek.com - they make custom swim pads, it is much nicer then stock.

I am curious if people are having issue with a boat stored indoors OR if it is a weathering effect from the platform being outdoors all the time.

The issue is with the supplier of the black pads. The rubber oxidizes, as most things do in the sun, and degrades to a point where the pigment leeches out of the black pad. Thus, sticking to feet and whatever else and tracking all over everything.
The SeaDek is for sure the way to go. Turst me, I'm with you in the frustration in having to replace a fairly new pad - but you'll be happy you did. Even if my black pad hadn't been wearing out, I think I would have changed out the pad.

ditto on making the switch to Seadek even though the OEM pad was nearly new. Bonus is my wife thinks it was some of the best $$ spent on the boat.
