Upgrade to Kenwood KMR-440U
Thinking about upgrading to a Kenwood KMR-440U head unit.
in terms of making sound a bit louder and cleaner...
I want to add an amp, I only have the stock speakers and don't really want to upgrade them unless I have to.
any suggestions?
also, will the Kenwood KMR-440U work with the existing remote on the drivers side?2006 Moomba Mobius LSV
Stereo: Kenwood KMR-D562BT
Ballast: 750 Surfside locker, 400 Surfside mid boat, 400 Gravity I, 400 Bow
Surfboards: Inland Surfer Red Woody, Triple X Composite X 58"[/SIZE]

The KMR-440u does work with factory remote IF it is the Aeware or Kenwood one!
I just installed one in my '04 Outback and it works perfectly. Sounds great too! As for amp options, check one of the speakers on the back and see what RMS power and Max power it can handle, then you can find amp to work with them.

Kmr 440
I also upgraded to that head unit so my Iphone could plug directly into it, this was on a 2004 LSV. It sounds much better than what it came with from the factory and yes worked with my boats remotes, ALTHOUGH.......the old stereo had a separte plug for the remotes, the new head unit I had to plug the wire from the remote into one of the pins on the big Kenwood wiring harness (from memory it was the bottom row third over). Good luck with the upgrade, I was very pleased with mine.
