Prop question
Gonna go with the prop solution. Can anyone explain to me the numbers on the prop. I am sure one of them is a diameter, but what is the second number for? I currently have a 13.7X17.5. Would going to a 14x14 help me any?

13.7 is the diameter of the prop and 17.5 is how far the prop will travel in one revolution.......a 14 14 is a little bigger diameter but will travel a shorter distance in one revolution....there fore it will have to spin faster to travel the same distance(speed will be reduced) but because of the increase in diameter will have better hole shot or pushing power especially when the boat is loaded with ballast

thanks Dan, then yes going to that prop is kinda like getting a bigblock instead of a smallblock motor without the top end speed

Yes, a 14x14, whether the OJ or the Acme, will be a huge improvement over the stock prop.
See my prop test post below wherein I tested your current prop and the OJ 14x14. Be prepared to lose some top end though, in the 3 - 4 mph range.

Best bet is to not guess about this stuff and call OJ. They will tell you exactly what prop you should buy. If you guess and buy one and don't like it, then you are out a large bit of cash.

I just bought one from Acme about 20 minutes ago. Got the 14x14 for $400.
