    That is really cool you spliced it to work correctly. Could you share any details from the install? which wires, how you found them?

    A 5A fast acting inline fuse is ok, no worries there. If you wanted, you could go even lower, 1A, but 5A is a good value for most all low power electronic devices.

    the "remote" wire was the blue and white wire that went into the back of the head unit.
    power and ground... obvious

    as far as the splicing... here is a snapshot of the directions for splicing... which took 2 mins...
