    Default what battery or batteries???

I have dual batteries. The are both deep cycle marine duralast's. But if we beach and shut the boat off I turn the perko on to battery #2 for the stereo and the battery dies after 2 or 3 hours. I was thinking of upgrading to optima's. Is that a good choice or is there something better out there? I don't want to drop $600 each on the stingers even though I am sure they would outlast any battery out there. Just to much money...

don't have any real world experience on the optima's, but have heard that they are a lot of hype for the name in the marine environment. perhaps replacing with 3 good interstate deep cycle and wire 2 of the batteries to show a 12volt load for the stereo?

on a side note, looks like we have a similar stereo. what fosgates are you running? I have not used their stuff for 15 years and put 3 in this winter and man, do they rock...

If you want storage capacity and you have the room and can take the weight then two 6 volt golf cart batteries is the answer. They put any pair of deep cycle batteries to shame. It is the battery of choice for RVs. I run everything in my RV for 9 days without a recharge.

Look at the Deka Seamates. The group 31 is 105 amp hours and the group 27 is 96 hours I believe. I have 3 Deka batteries in my boat. They run about $160 for the group 27 each and about $195 for the 31's

So can I run just one 6v battery in my RV or would I need to run 2 so I can show 12v? I was thinking of pulling the battery out of my RV (it's a Trojen, group 27 I think) and putting that in my boat and just putting a 6v in the Rv. So can i do that or do I ned 2 6v or a special charger?

Last i herd from Brian at Exile is hes got a contract with once of the big Gell Battery companies and can get them shipped in. I was going to check with Brian for Stretch. After me and him talked he decided he didn't want to spend that much on batteries and i don't blame him.
