Huh....same thing here. Used to be a member at a local course but gave it up this year due to the Moomba. Now any free day I have and weekends we're on the water! Do miss golf though (just not as much as I'd miss the water if I'm on the course)
Plus Golf was a 1 man show for me and the boat offers fun for the whole family!

I figure when I'm too old to ride much and the kids are gone the links will be waiting. I get out 1-2 X a year these days. Had a blast in a scramble last week though. Great format for guys that aren't playing all the time.
My Mom said I'm not allowed to get wet!

I don't think you'll ever be too old to ride. that's what makes surfing such a great sport.. I figure that once I do hit that golden age when it's painful to get on a board, that's why they invented pontoon boats. great way to still enjoy the water...
you are right on scrambles. to quote several; "grip it and rip it"'06 Supra Launch 20SSV-gone but never forgotten

Sled,
I try to get certified in scuba 15 yrs ago, because i love the water and snorkling and stuff. They would not do it because i am slightly asthmatic
Probably not good to get an attack 40 to 50 ft down.

JV, things change,
I gave up on golf, requires too much of my time to stay competent.
And SandM is right as long as I can keep surfing I'm good. You guys remember Banana George? Heck he was well into his 70's and still footin'!!

We went out today and kneeboarded, wakeboarded, water skied and as you can see my son surfed. I think it is time to get him a another board now.
The water is coffee colored after our flood, but it should clear out soon. NO I didn't get in, it is not June 1 yet! If you look behind him way at the end of the lake is a damn, behind that damn it is St. Andrews Bay beautiful blue salt water over there. At least until the oil comes.Last edited by zegm; 05-15-2010 at 07:22 PM.
