Good luck, it's gonna suck gas. By the way, the dealer wants over $500 to change the spark plugs in that truck. You have to take off the intend manifold and a bunch of other stuff. I have an '07 Dodge 2500 with 5.9L diesel.

have a 06 quad cab 4x4 with the hemi, mines a gas pig, but ive got a 2.5" leveling kit on the front, heavy ass 35" tires and 20"wheels. When we are headed out of state with the boat and the bed full of camping stuff doing about 60mph im getting a whopping 10.5mpg---sucks, but that only happens about 2 times a year so it doesnt justify a deisel that i would like to have.

I also have an 06 dodge 2500 quad cab diesel,I sure wouldnt say its great on fuel with a load, when i bought it diesel was cheap, yes i get alot of power with my diesel but my new dodge has 391 hp and 475 ftlbs of torque. and also my diesel truck was like 9000 dollers more than a gas truck. I get 12mpg with a load on the diesel and it has a cold air intake to boot..........

Sorry to say it but the Hemi's new or old or the Tundras also are very hard on gas especially with a load. Thats the price You pay for that extra power.

I'll pay the extra price for diesel because no gas burner I've ever owned will tow my boat worth a crap.
The 6-speed manual Dodge 2500/3500 get great fuel economy empty or towing compared to the gassers. My 07 2500 2WD mega cab is a 5.9L 5-speed auto. It has AFE stage II intake, Smarty Jr programmer, Aeroturbine exhaust (still has the cat) and gets 20-21 hwy miles per gallon and 14-16 towing the boat on the highway. All my mileage numbers are done by hand and not that overhead computer. That mileage computer/display is so optimistic. Had an old man at the dealership say his stock 3500 auto was getting 27-28 miles per gallon...had to laugh at that one. Told him to calculate it by hand and he might get 18-19 hwy.

My neighbors got a Dodge Hemi which replaced his older Dodge truck. He loves it, I have no idea on the mileage though cause I've never asked him. He got the new one the day he put 200,000 on his old one. The old one still ran he just always told himself thats when he would get a new one.

My take is that most trucks get about 14-16 mpg not towing and less towing. There is tons of talk about trucks getting better milage but I've just never seen it myself. We run a F250 with a 5.4, a Titan (no idea what motor they run) a Chevy 1500 with 5.3L, 2500 with 6.0L and a 2500 diesel at our shop.

FWIW I have an 07' F150 with the 5.4 Liter, I don't really check mileage much but I would say I get about 14 around town and 12 or so towing a boat my guess is the Hemi will get similar.
