Rad A Cage Crack
This is just an FYI to boat owners with a Rad A Cage to periodically check the welds on the brackets that are screwed to the boat.
Fortunately, I happened to notice the crack on the bracket... -

61 MPH?
JMO: What prop are you running to get 61mph?
Does the K&N filter actually give you more power than the stock flame arrestor? I wouldn't think the flame arrestor is very restrictive. Plus, it's a... -

boat loading
I've experienced the problem mostly when running in the 30-45mph range and without ballast, but loaded with 6-8 people. Those are the two occasions when the hull flex was enough for the center...

Windshield
I too have this problem with my 1999 Moomba Outback. In anything other than glass water I have to keep my windshield open, because waves cause my hull to flex so much that the center window frame...

Problem Solved
turns out it was just a failed water pump. I guess overheating the engine resulted in the blue smoke anomaly. It now runs fine with no smoke.

Leaks continued
It turned out the leak was from the drive shaft. I tightened it up and the leak stopped. Unfortunately, it worked itself loose within about 6 hours of riding. I'll try to make it even tighter next...

Troubleshooting Engine (Outback 310hp)
Today, my motor apparently overheated. About 2 miles from the launch, I was driving about 3000 RPMs when I noticed a strange sound coming from the exhaust. When I looked back I saw a bluish haze...

Leak
I'm experiencing a lot of water leaking into my 99 outback. I've fully inspected the hull from the outside and see no suspicious places for a leak. I'm assuming that the water is coming in around the...

Matt,
Thanks for the info. I have confirmed that the secondaries are not opening. I tried the wd-40 with no success. However, I'm reluctant to open the secondary actuator with no replacement... -

Erratic Motor Performance
I recently purchased a 1999 Moomba Outback with a 310 HP Carborated 5.7L Indmar Engine. I'm running a 4 blade OJ prop. Occasionally she'll run close to 5000 RPM at WOT, yet the majority of the time I...
