All the strainers that I have seen have the 90's on them. You generally would want the unit to be sitting up and down or the bowl on the bottom. Hope that helps.

I would check your temperature gauge to make sure it is reading 170 - 180 because a stuck open thermostat will run the engine too cool which then tells the computer to run richer. Hope this helps
