It sounds like you have a loose connection, or some corrosion on a connector, or a wire broken down inside the insulation somewhere. Didn't you mention that some of your gauges go in and out...

Sometimes the ole "wire jiggle" procedure fixes things!

I would also make sure the temperature difference is not due to any low grease in the wheel bearing hubs. Unless they are sealed?
