I think if you negotiate a fair deal and are not a DB, then it will come back around with service, parts etc.
Ian, what you looking for. Boaters choice had a few on the lot last year when We we looking .pretty good guys to deal with.

this is an excellent statement!! When i was selling farm machinery i had a sales manager that was very aggressive and we routinely had a better price on new equipment but our service department was a bunch of doughheads..... i got told more than once that we had the best price but they were purchasing elsewhere due to the service department...
Now i'm a crop inputs manager and that is what i base my business off of... i may not always have the best price but we strive to have the best service which nets us a lot of business...
If i'm buying used then of course i'm gonna shop around and see where i can find the best suitable boat for me, but if i'm buing new then i want to get opinions on the service department from current owners... nothing worse than breaking down and needed work done with no one to help you out!
now with all that said.. it annoys me to about the call for price thing... lol i'm just curious..
If I found an OBV that was any variation of Pacific and/or Brittany, WITHOUT a white top/interior fiberglass, the newer style tower, either PP or DigiPro, a wake plate, and Bimini I'd probably consider it very strongly for the right price. I don't think that exists in the leftover or used market.
I've mentioned this before, but will do so again. Different dealers in different markets have different cost structures and margin requirements.
For example, Shadrack in TN can drive down the street & pick up boats from the factory and spend some $20 on gas. AWS in Oregon has to have their boats shipped out and probably drops $2k+ on freight. Is it fair to have AWS meet/beat Shadrack just because you made a phone call to compare?
I'm with sandm. Go and negotiate the best deal you can with your local dealer. Support them and demand the same in return.
The basis on my post wasn't because I want to price shop, Im confident in my negotiating skills - it's because it's annoying to have to know or guess when window shopping.
Understood. The thread just went off course.
Again.
Surprise!
i hate that too..call for price, call for price...just give me the price..if im interested in that boat and the price is nice ill talk to you..dont force me to call you just for the price..i dont mind driving a few hours for a boat..i drove 3 hours one way to buy mine (tax free due to military living in KY, but NY stiffed me 850$ in taxes when i reg'd it here)..all i say is lets riot lol
