Do you mean the fittings? I didn't glue mine in at all, just tighten them up. Knock on wood, no leaks.
Yes, fittings.. Thks for reading my mind
I've used just some pipe tape. Others suggest the pipe dope stuff or the pvc cement. If you ever want to get them out you might think about how permanent you want it. It's low pressure so I don't see why you need anything but the pipe tape works great.
Wakemakers recommended all purpose pvc cement. I have a port that is leaking enough that thread tape won't fix it so I'm planning to give this a try.
Just hand tighten, leave glue for last resort, Teflon tape is 2nd step.
Went with tape. Wasn't up for the glue. We'll see how it holds
I think taco beat would weld them in... but that's just a guess ;-)
I tried both methods. Only the PVC glue held for me. The downside is that the fittings may be permanent. But - no more fittings popping out and sending 400 lbs of water onto the carpet and into the bilge.
I dont see how the fitting could pop out. When I installed mine on the 750's it was a real stretch to get them in all the way.
On another note I want to take them off on the OEM 400 bags. Does heat help? They are on there good, not sure if Moomba puts glue on them from the factory.
