Berg, I've had two of these:

With a couple of mods they flat get it! Never drove it and didn't wind up with a big smile! My next "family" car will be a used CTS-V with 6spd.

Oh I used to think the old SS gunboats would be cool.
Just had too much time on my hands and was laughing at how fun an old police cruiser would have been.
CTS-V 6 speed = "family car"?
I like the way you think.
This one is actually pretty sweet if it looks at good as the pics. http://portland.craigslist.org/clc/cto/3373913910.html
HAHA great finds man.
i would never own the Police Car, or any car they use as a common Police car.
Ive known a few who buy them at auction and think as you did. Problem is is town everyone slows down around you, you cant get anyplace on time from what they said.
Now on the Highway you can cruise all day no issues and even get away with some 10+ speeding lol
If I buy anymore junk I will get that LOOK from the you know who but I too look at clean 60's rides on CL that I could stuff a huge engine in.

Same boat as before - not quite as PWI this time. Still a lot of upgraded upgrades in this upgrade.

No idea what year it is but the price keeps dropping! It's in my home town here and I recognize the launch in the photo. Surprised I haven't seen it out before and met the guy. I could be bashing on a fellow board member here!
Those new CTS-V's are animals!!
I had an '05 that all I did was a bit of suspension work, better brake pads, cold air intake and a cat-back exhaust (way too quiet stock) and ran it on the NorCal HPDE tracks. I still have my second set of CCW rims in the garage as I ran Toyo R1s on the track days.
At Sear's Point I passed a new Ferrari in turn 11 and will NEVER forget that. Of course I also got passed by a Miata in turn four at Laguna by an ex-pro that could DRIVE!!!
That car was also leased, my daily driver and serviced at our local Caddy dealer, had it towed to the dealer from the track twice -- and all under warranty! My original plan was to buy out the lease after three years, but three years of weekend track days put a bit of a toll on that car! Had a few "squeaks" in it when I turned the keys over!!! I loved that car, the new ones are even badder but they tacked on an additional $20k
Check out my license plate on my '05 below...
