Ok so I was cleaning out the boat today and found two parts in the bottom of the bilge. I have no clue what they go for. The first is a bronze nut that is a 9/16. The second is a clip of some sort. Below is a photo of both of them. Any help would be great. I cannot find what they came off of and I have searched the boat up and down.

never seen the clip before, but looks like something to hold two hoses apart ???
Looks like a nut and a dickfer.

Im thining the bolt might be for the engine cover latch. I know on my LSV that thing was always vibrating lose and id find it in the bilge.
Wire item, IDK man id have to snoop around your boat to fine out what was missing, It does seem as if its something to hold hoses away from something

Thats the nut that was holding the ball separator wire (the other item) to prevent ball contact on power turns and avoid overheating of the coolant
Check the fuel pump wires. The clip looks like a retaining clip for the connections.
I saw the same nut at home depot today for $.70. A spool of wire should cost around $4 and you can bend it yourself.Quote:

When I first got my boat my engine locker lock was missing so that might be what the nut is from before they put a new one on their. I will also have to check the fuel pump. I will let everyone know. Try the Part ID app. Take a picture and it will tell you what the part is. If you get too many possibilities, you go to the "additional information" line and type in "found in a bilge of a boat."
It works great when I'm working on my motorcycle and I have parts left over.
If you have parts left over, then you did the job correctly...
What are the actual dimensions, placing a ruler next to the parts when taking a picture helps the viewer establish scale. They appear to me to be from the same place, I suspect the nut held the wire part onto something. The wire looks like it is could be some sort of grab handle for two fingers to pull on or as other have said some sort of hose retainer that the nut would hold to a stud somewhere on the engine or a bracket perhaps... Look around for where there are two hoses running near each other that might benefit from a retainer then look for a stud that would match the nut.
