Engine Timing
Hey guys, just installed a new engine in my 02 mobius lsv and need to do the timing on it. I have the distributor jumper plug but every time we try to swap the harness plug for the jumper plug to advance the timing it dies out. Anyone know if I am even doing this right or should I do this a different way? We try to swap the plugs when its at idle. Thanks!

Re: Engine Timing
Haven't done it but does it die even when you increase the idle? You need to have the plug in first I believe, if you unplug it it'll probably kill it..

parrothd- we have not tried to swap the plugs any higher than idle, but it does kill it when we swap the plugs at idle. we tried starting it with the shunt installed but it wont start. it'll crank just not start. i did notice in that forum you posted on here that the loose wire needs to be connected to 12v so i will try that next for sure. the only thing is my engine is injected not carb'd.

Re: Engine Timing
That's different, you need the manual..

Engine Timing
You should reach out to Engine Nut on this forum he is the Indmar Guru. On the Carb motor the connector needs direct 12 volts during timing adjustments.
