Sorry I know this is tabu.
I need a new snow blower and lowes has 15% off Troy bilt this weekend. I have a TB power washer I have been happy with. Anyone one up north have any experience with the 26 ,28or 30 inch models.
Thanks

Don't say that word. You've just ruined my day!
here in wisconsin everyone tells me Ahrens is the ONLY brand to buy, and to stay away from their Snow-Tek line. buy the classic or pro models.
that's the only one I"m shopping for.
Uh, yeah, can't help you there. Troy bilt makes mowers around here and they are junk unless they have the Honda engine. Not sure what they put on their snowblowers though.
Ariens definitely makes the best. I have a Husquvarna that I've been very pleased with. I think Troy bilt seems to be more of a hardware store brand... Kind of cheap, but I've never owned one.
it all depends how far you have to throw the snow and how large an area you need to clean. I have a honda that has been start on first pull for 19 years
+1 for Honda -- had one for years with absolutely no troubles.
Joe
My advice?
Move south. I sold mine cheap last may and moved south. Haven't regretted yet! Haha
Happy Labor Day and hope you don't need it for at least 3 months!
I have a John Deere 1028 that I've had for the past 4 years... very solid machine. A 1330, 1332 or 1338 would suit you well if you wanted to go bigger. The JD dealer network is fantastic and many products are also sold at the big box stores (usually the smaller models).
I must admit I'm somewhat partial since JD is my employer. Good luck!
I have a JD tractor, but JD is out of small power machines, otherwise I would got the JD route. They are selling Honda which is great, but at 3k over my by 3 to 4 times
+1 Honda, mine had tracks and was the best snow blower I ever used. Sold it when I moved to GA 15 years ago but if I ever move back north I'll be buying another Honda snow blower. Kind of miss massive drifts of snow at times, other times I think I'm absolutely mad when I miss it
If I ever have any feeling of missing snow in my driveway ill go visit joe and then remember why I like the south! Hahaha
Brad,
I will even let you use the new snow blower. Lol
I keep giving my snowblower the stink eye every time I see it sitting in the corner of the garage cause I know it won't be long..... I have a 30" Craftsman Professional series that has worked well. My only dislike is the joystick chute control which gets very stiff and seems to drift while pushing heavy snow. Mine is a 3-4 years old now, and from what I saw they have made some improvements to the joystick.
