So, other than noise, a straight pipe should not give me any problems?
not that i can see
-Sore mouth from a permagrin
-Guys constantly wandering up wanting to check out what you're running
-Nagging look from significant other along with offcolor comments about reliving the glory days
-Noticing you are saying "huh" or "what" more often...
Seriously - as long as the backpressure isn't a worry then you should be all good.
I would never get sick of this sound

I just need to find a peice of stainless pipe to replace the mufflers. Is the rubber 3.5" ID or OD?
It should create more throttle response when pulling from a dead stop
So curiosity is killing me (and the fact that I'm bored stuck at work).
Did you get the straight pipe conversion done? Sound??
When I bought my boat the P/o had removed the muffler and replaced it with thick PVC straight from the manifolds, it was ungodly loud and annoying. Sounded great at idle.....that's it. IMO of course :)
man, I love the sound of a built v8- not much sounds better(except the whoosh of a large turbo spooling up), however I can't even imagine listening to that for all of the 230hrs I have put on my boat. that would get VERY old quickly.
at least with music, you can change it up or turn it off. you're talking 24/7 every time you're at the lake... yuck.. again imo :)
well said, something about a healthy little small block
