Just one in the transom, one strip above each cupholder and the courtesy lights are replaced with some accent lights from superbrightleds.com.
I have mine installed and operating. Looks good as far as I can tell in the garage :D Snow here yesterday so I'm not holding my breath for getting a water test done anytime soon! It'll be just like your brother-in-law's except only 1!! I like it so far.............I use it about every 2 days
Took the plunge today. Ordered 11 of the superflux LED's for the cup holders, a 4" strip LED for under the dash, and 2 of the high intensity floods for the transom. All in white (per the wife's request). I think that should light things up nicely in the evenings.
The plan is to tie these into the courtesy light switch that is in place already. Anyone see any issues with doing that? Should I look at putting the transom lights on their own switch?
I too didn't want things TOO bright. Just changed the accent lights to red, and added a cluster to each cup holder area from superbrightleds.com I have a different boat, but my accent lights were just pop out the halogen bulp and put in a T-10 led 5 cluster off ebay. Quick plug and play.
I might pull the trigger today on underwater LEDs from Lumitec. White goes the farthest but we boat in green/brwn water so I'm getting Blue. Wish they had Red but they don't penetrate the water as well as white/blue, plus the 'blood water' effect =:)
