We are in the process of ordering a new Mondo, we have picked all our options and colors. I wanted anyones input on the bigger motor 409 horses. Or would a higher torque prop be good enough? Its a 5600 upgrade so I need to knew if its worth it.

that's a lot of money for an upgrade that you, realistically, wont see if you ever decide to sell it. prop selection can make up for a lot. one of the 14x14 variants from acme or oj would be better $$ imo..
congrats on ordering a new toy..
maybe we'll run into each other around...
My .02. just picked up our 14 LSV last week with the 330 HP. I was worried too if it was enough power for the boat ( we came from a Response w/325 hp). I talked to a few guys and they talked me out of the up grade. Granted we have only had the new boat out once, but I have no complaints. $5600 is a bunch of money. Save it and buy more toys and beer.
Thanks for the input. I'm glad you agree with what I was thinking I'd much rather get a better prop vs. 5600. I need toys and beer for the ladies because everyone wants to be my friend with a new boat!!!
What about upgrading to the 345 surf engine?
2000 for only 15 more horses doesn't seem worth it either
I think it's a bargain. I know of people paying double that with other manufactures. The Mondo is a big boat, loaded with people and weight you will be happy with the extra power. I know on other manufactures the higher horsepower engines burn less fuel, but the break even point on a $6200 upgrade is 1000 hours at today's fuel prices
highly recommend the 345 surf motor, not so much for the 15hp but for the other upgrades Indmar include with it. check Indmar's website for a detailed list.
+1 for the 345 surf motor. It's not just about the HP #.
In my mind, the 345 is the motor the boats are supposed to come with. The 330 is offered as a cost alternative. For what it's worth, I don't think Supra offers the smaller motor.
ok thanks for the advice. I am liking the idea of the 345 now. I will have to do some more research. I just want to build this one right and keep it for a long time.
Plus 1 on the 345 surf engine, with the bigger prop it's a beast......
Come on guys! You are killing me! I already put a deposit down on a Mondo with a December spray and now I am questioning if I should have gone with the 345. I unfortunately went with the 330. Probably too late by now and I should have done more research.

Is there any other options besides the normal ones that I should consider? I don't need all the bells and whistles but I do want to have the right options. I plan on keeping this one for a very long time.
Thanks for everyones input!
what options did you order ?
You got time to change. I made changes 3 days before production with no questions asked.
Besides color options so far we have;
345 motor
bimini
cover
gps cruise
racks
spare tire
bow filler
These are my for sures right now
look at
Tandem trailer ? well worth the money!! and found out no extra money for color and a pinstripe.
Pop up Cleats (should be standard IMO)
Sundeck walk across non skid pad.
upper and lower racks (much cheaper from factory)
DUAL Batteries!!
+2 Heater.. Scrap the bow filler, you'll never use it..

Get a good boat cover.
Heater for sure and tandem axle trailer
Sorry if this is a dumb question but since it will be my first boat, what are benefits if tandem axle.

This is great. I'm having so much fun building my dream beast! Thanks everyone I greatly appreciate the input. I have a little bit of time to make everything final.
Costs more, more maintenance, harder to maneuver, but if you have a tire blowout it'll keep you from pooping your pants, on a single trailer the experience can be life altering... :) I have a single, they're easier to get around/maneuver in tight spaces. Really depends on your trailing experience, probably worth the extra $$$ if you're not sure. Unless you have tight garage or storage space...
I agree that maneuvering can be of concern, but that is all dependent on your skill level when it comes to trailering. I would highly suggest the tandem over the single for blowouts since I just had one, 3 tires supporting the load is much safer than 1 IMO. In the end it will depend on your situation, can you afford it, can you trailer it (skill/towing vehicle) and is it worth it to you.
I had single under the supra and it was a breeze to move around in the garage. there's a double on the current boat and I can't budge that thing more than a few inches and to try and back it up at all, forget it. gotta be a good driver.
I know a guy here local that is looking at a mondo for next spring and he wants single to be able to get it into the 3rd stall since you can't pour a 3car driveway here in greenbay. it'll be a breeze to move around and we don't have more than a few miles to the launch ramp.
Whats the difference between Cruise - Digital Pro with Display vs. Cruise - Zero Off GPS
assumption here that digital pro is paddlewheel based and the other is gps. having had both(perfect pass in the supra, not digital pro), gps is the way to go imo.
I never found the paddlewheel to be that accurate. gps seems to hold a much steadier speed.
Plus one for zero off. Holds speed great
Whats the benefit of dual batteries if I don't have a large stereo?
You will if you follow this forum for any amount of time. Then you will need the dual battery,s.
simple--on boat backup. Sa you trailer 2 hrs to the lake, back in and hit the key and nothing happens, then you realize you left the key on last time out, so now instead of scrambling to find a jump start you reach over and switch to batt 2 and she fires right up. worth it right there. And, when Exile starts shipping box's your set for that large stereo--somethings just happen and that's one of them--lol.
snap bow cover, heater, double axle trailer-upgraded wheels, popup cleat's, logo carpet. Heck, just click every box off.....
