My OBV had six switches in this order: NAV/ANC, COURT, BILGE, STEREO, DOCKING, and BALLAST. I removed the COURT and DOCKING switches. I wired those into the ANC side of the NAV/ANC switch. I moved the STEREO switch over to the COURT switch spot. Now I have LEFT BALLAST, CENTER BALLAST, and RIGHT BALLAST on the right side of all the switches.
Very easy to do, and did not require any cutting.
Dang good idea. How often does anyone leave an "anchor" light on anyway? I would guess you'll use the "ballast" switches much more often.
I was thinking the same as Joe. If nothing more, move the switches you hardly ever use to another location, maybe below the throttle. I love having the ballast on the right side of the dash in the Mojo.
I went through same debate couple years ago.
Ended up right here and only bumped on accidentally once in last 2 years.

Are they mounted in a panel or right in the fiberglass? I don't think I'd mess with a panel if you have one.
My volt meter rarely gets looked at unless there's a worry or problem. It had to go, so down low it went. (bottom left)

Wow, I'm surprise how much the white on the depth gauge faded out and yellowed. Looks like it may be time for a new one of those as well...
They're mounted into the fiberglass, like your volt gauge, where is your wake plate gauge located?
I replaced my depth gauge with this one(white).
Didn't get the water temp version because I figured everyone would always be asking the water temp instead of getting in the water.... :)

No wake plate...
I would like to switch to the Faria with the thru hull. Very nice looking and compliments the other gauges. Good call on the water temp. "You don't wanna know - just jump"
