Another Trailer Maintenance Thread

So I'm pretty good about the maintenance of my trailer, but man I really fell asleep on this one...

I was hooking up the boat yesterday to go to the lake, and I notice my safety cables don't look right. Upon further inspection, the only thing hold them in one piece was the outer sheath. They had totally rusted in half. One little pull and they both came right off. I had no idea they were this far gone. Shame on me.

Anyway, have another set on the way from Boatmate (only $25 plus shipping), but I would recommend everyone with older trailers give them a once over. Better safe than sorry!
