Capix ball cap helmet

Anyone using this helmet; can you wear the ball cap helmet with the bill facing forward, or are the straps only set up to wear backwards? I got smacked in the nose and eye socket this weekend when my foot came out of the right binding and i'm pretty sure if i had a hard bill in front of me the board would not have caught me so squarely in the face. I know the Byerly helmet has a small bill, but doesn't seem long enough to prevent this from happening. The shiner i've got right now does make for good conversation, but i'd rather not get another one.
