Quick question. How does the depth finder determine the depth because it said 2.5 ft and I know I'm in at least 4-5 foot of water, is that from the bottom of the boat or how does it come to that?

It should read the depth from the transducer mount location. Most units have a calibration feature if the reading is not what you want.

Sorry to hijack but what if it only reads this. ( -- ) its my 2012 , is the sensor no good or does something need to be done to get it to work
Generally it reads that when you are in water more then 200ft. It will do that sometimes when you have a lot of turbulance under the boat.Quote:

Ok well im going to check all the conection and see if the sensor is still glued to the bottom of the boat .
