How much does your gear weigh?
Not much wiggle room with the 3000#
Speaking of fuel, crazy aside...Quote:

Answer: Tongue weight. Empty boat places more weight on the tongue.
I got a 3600# lift from Vibo in North Branch, MN. Even has a cutout for the Drive Shaft. Seems to handle things no problem. (99 Mobius DD, no ballast)

I had a 3500# lift for my Ski Natique this worked no problem. I purcased a Mobius LSV like Ed said and the 3500# lift broke the following year. I now have a 4500# lift. Boat 3000# + fuel and gear 500# + me getting in and out of the boat on the lift 200# = 3700# Go with the 4000# lift.
