welded in!
Hey now taco,
This is no bueno. You need to provide us slower ones on here with a bit more color commentary. What the guacamole are you up to with a welder in the boat?
A little scary but love the end result!
Nothing like a little melted carpet to get the juices flowing!
That right there is why I stay away from tequila.
I'm relocating my ballast pumps, and I gotta say I will not be using a welder...
I had a chicken taco salad tonight for dinner with some salsa & chips and a few cervesas, but I am still no comprende on what the heck is going on in his boat.

a little wiring...

...and switches.

but then I got distracted with polishing, I'll work on plumbing tomorrow. Can't wait, I got the plasma cutter ready to go!!
THIS.IS.AWESOME.
Welding?? Where do all of you get these fabulous toys??
So I moved the batteries out of the rear locker and added a new acr and switch, also put the amps in and an on board charger....

Thought I'd start plumbing when the UPS man showed up........Attachment 15061Attachment 15062Attachment 15063Attachment 15064
Derailed again! Atleast I got to cut something!
Well once I started cutting I caught the bug...Attachment 15065Attachment 15066
Then I got some help..Attachment 15068
And bam!

Came to the party late but wth is going on especially the pic of a speaker two cup holders and partial windshield
Can't picture it not enough tequila I guess
Beat Taco - what part of town you in? Love to swing by some time, meet a fellow MOOMBA owner and check out your handy work, help polish off some cold bee... uh tequila.
I'll be at three rivers this weekend, looks like you know the spot! I hope you do get to see my boat in person someday, its just an old Supra Santera I bought in September well used. This was my favorite SC forum so I thought I'd share some pics of the upgrades I was working on....until I posted!!;)
Loved the pics taco. Hope you keep hanging around brotha!

Very Cool Taco - you were sort of a mystery guest there for a while. If it hasn't been said yet - welcome to the forum!
I don't think the weather is going to cooperate this weekend to hit the water - maybe Wed and Thur though.
Three rivers - you talking the golf course?? I'm racking my brain to come up with where there are three rivers that actually meet in one spot around here. Got scratch so far...
Sorry, your sig pic! Attachment 15104
Cove! More pics on that to come!
Back to the boat..I couldn't find a good spot for it so I just used the old anchor light hole since I'm putting the light on the tower. No real ideal spot but I happen to use the crap out of remotes at the back of the boat.
Attachment 15105
Got the tower back on....
Attachment 15106
The boat had no shine when I got it and the blue stripe around the top was more of a white stripe with slight blue tint it was so oxidized. I quickly ditched the old light setup and added some new to me pro 80's
Attachment 15107
Note the swim deck is now on and its beer not tequila as most of you guessed! I used epoxy along with the screws to secure the deck to the new brackets!
I did start plumbing, note the bow sac in the first tower picture. Hopefully tomorrow the 1100's go into the rear lockers! The swim deck will get its love to but I need to refinish the fiberglass before I stick down the new sea dek. That wont happen before this weekend, but heres a teaser..
Attachment 15108
The pro 80's now drown out the sound of my JL 7.7's, in a good way of coarse!
Attachments didn't work there amigo.
Ok - now I know where you're talking about. We don't have a trip planned to that neck of the woods until August unfortunately. Always subject to change though.
Sorry, your sig pic! Attachment 15122

Fixed the pics!
I wanted to get an update in before my Cove trip but ended up working on the boat until I left. One of the boxes of parts I got with the boat was what I thought was rear locker boards, turns out all I had was this:
Attachment 15232
This was the first time I had them in, I got the boat in September and put 40 hours on it as is, this was one of the things missing. I had to drill and tap some new machine screws in the aluminum to make it oh so nice.
So I made these:
Attachment 15233Attachment 15234
And with that I was finally ready for rear bags. I also needed to make something to fill the huge hole in the dash where the stereo was supposed to go. Boat came with no stereo!
Attachment 15235
So with the important stuff done I worked on the last few items before leaving. First I knew I would need more prop to push all that ballast!
Attachment 15236
Then some oil. I happen to have both filters laying around so heres the wix/napa gold next to the mobil 1. We can beat this one to death, the point is change them regularly and stay away from fram!
Attachment 15237
And with my new house panel full of accessories a big stereo and 6 year old batteries I pulled the trigger on these:
Attachment 15238
And hit the road:
Attachment 15239
Now unfortunately I did a bad job of taking pictures once I got to the lake. I will get more of the bags/boat etc. but someone did get one of me surfing...uh..and drinking!
Attachment 15240
I will get more photos of the bags and everything cleaned up soon. Another thing that I think first brought me here was attempting to trailer the boat. My old Centurion was such a breeze. Last summer the wet the bunks, fronts half out, worked fine at the ramps I was using. The ramp at Three Rivers was impossible, I really want to add front bunks to lift the bow up! However with a little more research I am getting the back wheels of my truck 6" deep and self centering off the trailer pylon. Funny thing is thats how I always grabbed my centurion and I am done beating up the boat powering on and off the trailer!

Newberg today. Looks like a bunch of you run around there!
Did some more tonight. Cut the SeaDek for the walk-thru area that used to be a skating rink. You can see the Hella LED courtesy lights I used to replace the old junk that was missing three out of five covers. Also check out my DIM stainless cup holders, no expense spared when your ballin' on a budget!
Attachment 15297Attachment 15298
Also thought I'd post a pic of the sweet factory ballast setup, these took up the rear lockers and added a whopping 240lbs. each!!
Attachment 15299Attachment 15300
It's for sale! OBO!
The fixed heater that the previous owner failed to drain and froze along with the motor seems to be the biggest hit so far out of all the upgrades I've done. Haha
That factory ballast looks real familiar...
What about this? Getting close?
Attachment 15352
Ha - yeah, that does too. I won't see that water until the end of August though.
I'm a little jealous of the time you've had to put into your boat. I've done a few very little things but no where near what was on my wish list. For example my EQ has been sitting on the work bench since Christmas. The RCAs to wire it up (finally) sitting there close to a month...
Its getting harder to work on the boat now that our summer finally arrived! I already wish listed a bunch of upgrades until next year (like new interior) and am just trying to finish up the ones I started. The big one being my swim deck, I leave for Shasta on Friday and have to get it done! Found a pic of my old boat last night, wish I had some of the interior I re-did as it was my favorite upgrade.
Attachment 15366
So coming out of that into this is a dream come true, even if she's old junk by most standards.
Swim board done!
The previous owner must have never learned to turn towards the dock while pulling away from it seeing as how he used the platform as a bumper...
So heres the chunked out cracked board:
Attachment 15394Attachment 15395Attachment 15396
And here it is re-glassed with Seadek installed:
Attachment 15397Attachment 15398
Attachment 15399
And with that it should be ready for Shasta Friday!
did you just buy a sheet of the seadek?
taco, did you redo the swim platform yourself? If so could you lay out the materials you used, process, etc?
Thanks
