The exile setup is strong. That's the route I went....
4 xm 9's, harpoon amp to power, six in boats sx 65m, and a 12 XID dvc
Customer service has been great as wellas Brian and the team.
I love my Exile setup, which is 3 pairs of SX65 on an Xi800.4, and 2 XM9s on a Harpoon. I don't have Exile subs or sub amp, but the stuff I do have is top notch.
I have exile sxt65 on my tower (4) run with the harpoon and I have 12" exile sub and amp. I just got in the zld that I'll be putting in soon.
I am very pleased. The xm7 and xm9 are even better.
They call the sxt65's more of a surf setup and the xm series better for hearing at the end of a wakeboard rope. I can hear mine at 70' just fine.
Brian from Exile visits in here regularly. He's very helpful.
I am very pleased with my setup and think you will as well.
2- 400.4-- 1 for the tower speakers which are 2 xn9's, 1 for the 6 interior speakers which are Polk 6.5". 1 big 12 with harpoon amp. The dealer rep here said it would bang and be clear. I'm ready to get the stuff in. I'll be taking the polls out and replacing them with excile sx65m.
You will Definately want the harpoon for the towers.
Exile rocks! I am super stoked with my setup. The only problem I've had with my system is that my wife keeps telling me to turn it down!
A harpoon on 2 xm9's??
Harpoon rms 300w x 2 at 4 ohms
Xm 9 rms 150 to 250 w at 4 ohms.
Perfect match for each other.

The harpoon was designed for tower speakers I think. I'm running all exile and like it

Looks like I'll being buying the harpoon for towers
Sorry im late to the thread man, was on the lake for 4 days lol.
Absolutly if your buying Xm9s you need the Harpoon. You under power the XM9s at all and you risk blowing them. Besides as most can tell you when you buy 1 pair of towers, in time you will want a second pair and the Harpoon will power those just perfectly as well.
I would strongly urge you to spend a little extra and get the 800.4 for those cabins as well. 400 will not do the job very well.
You dont want to be spending the money you are and blow speakers due to not enough power on the amp.
The new Exile SXM6 cabins are RMS 100 watts, so you need to have an amp that RMS at 100 not max at 100.
Exile has awesome products as well as awesome people. I run (4) XM7's w/Harpoon on my tower. I have polk in-boats and control the whole thing with the ZLD. My next purchase will be exile amp and sub. Sounds amazing!
Chris - Big system like this, you might be wise to shoot me a pm or call at the office and speak with Rob. He can run you down some options. Most of the people that chimed in on this thread did the same thing. Devil is in the details on this stuff and every system should be tailored to your needs. We can connect you to a retailer local to you if needed or help you DIY, if thats the situation. Are you going to be at the SC party in AUG? (Bethany creek?) I'll be there... If so, I'd be down to check out your boat! I hear good things about the Mojo but yet to ride behind one yet.

whoops. thanks RD. funny thing - I just head from a MasterCraft that booked a room and they are sold out and double booked his room and kicked him out. lol
Brian,
I sent you a pm with my number. Give me a buzz when you get a minute.
Chris, you can't go wrong with Exile. Especially when you have a great guy like Brian to help you out. He was instrumental in helping me go through the DIY process as I was a complete newb when it came to car/marine audio. He took the time to persoinally answer all my dumb questions and offer insights into selecting the right gear for my boat.
Needless to say buy I am a huge fan and an extremely satisfied customer!
It's always good to hear good things about companies. I talked to Brian and told him everything we are doing. He suggested 1other thing and it is the ZLD. So I'll be adding that. Exile has. Been great as far as answering any and all questions
The ZLD is a must have imo! I just installed one a few weeks ago and let me say it makes a WORLD of difference! You just can't understand until you install one. Where my amp gains were at 60% or better, they are now almost on the floor with the Xi800.4 & Harpoon, the Xi1500.1 driving the Xi12 is around 50%.
The sound shaping capabilities are something else with the ZLD as well. Setting each amp individually allows you to shape as you want to hear it. Not only does it blend real nice but the signal is super crisp and clear! The hardest part of installing one is finding a place to put it, after that it's all gravy. I had an issue where the HU wasn't producing enough signal to one of the amps, the ZLD solved that problem and now it's all good!
I'm glad to hear that razz, I was sceptical at first but after watching the video
And talking to Brian, now I am going up Definately getting one
Chris,
Looks like you ended up going the Wet Sounds route. Just curious as to why since you originally wanted XM9's. I am going back and forth between the Rev8's and XM9's.
Are you ruling out the 10s?

Holy thread revival Batman!
i will say brian helped me out a lot..i bought a harpoon off a fellow member and it went bad within a few days..brian took it in and helped me out..i then bought a ZLD, i had it laying on the floor of the boat ready for install, over the night it rained and had some water on the cover, when i went to take the water off the cover collapsed and all the water ran over the ZLD and killed it..brian helped me out again. cant say enough for the help and everything brian and the crew of exile did for me. id recommend exile to my fellow boaters
Exile rocks!!! I am a believer.
