I just had the fiderglass guy do some repairs for me and asked him if he could remove all the old decals and stickers from the boat (since it was already there) ,so I could put on my new ID #. He uses a hairdryer on low and peals them off, with my boat being orange I thought for sure I would have fade marks but there were none at all and he didn't even have to wax them out.
I think you should go above the line and forward a little. I hate to admit it but I even had the guys install my new ID# decals, they were so good at installing them & quick, at no charge. That maybe an opption to have a decal guy install.....
