Me.. oh back in the day, fun times.
Those look rather modern compared to what i learned on.
I do. I actually came across a pair like this this weekend in the shed at the girl friends cottage. She looked at me like I had 2 heads when I suggested hanging them in the cottage as décor.

We still use a pair of crusty old wooden skies to teach with.
They are extremely wide witch makes it easy to get up on.
For sure - almost killed myself trying to slalom on the designated slalom ski. Had about a 1 inch fin if I recall.
I still have my Cypress Gardens El Diablo in the attic and in perfect shape. Every year, I used to wax the ski.
I have a friend who still has several pairs. They ski on them everyweekend. I didn't think anyone else still had any around.
I learned to slalom on a wooden ski.........think it was called "the shark"
Yep i remember maybe a little older then them tho .
Grew up in the SF East Bay (Oakland and Walnut Creek) and I still have my Maja that I have had since around 1974(?) Hard to remember!!
I want to refinish it, but I need to get the print redone.
I learned and skied on a ski like that and I wore some kind of safety float belt not a life jacket PFD.
We had some of the Cypress Gardens and also the highly coveted "Banana Peel". Mom and Dad both got new Taperflex slalom skis that were the class of the river for a while.
And they called it a "life belt". ha ha ha
Still have mine. They are hanging on a wall but I still have them.
Forgot about those.........Loved them at the time but looking back WTH! A big white belt wasn't going to do much for safety.
A buddy found an old Banana Peel at a garage sale and we had it out this past weekend. Flash from the Past!
Post pics of y'all sliding on the Banana Peel.
When I was a kid, my mom had a beautiful wood Murdoch slalom ski... Not bad!
