We are in the process of ordering a new Mondo, we have picked all our options and colors. I wanted anyones input on the bigger motor 409 horses. Or would a higher torque prop be good enough? Its a 5600 upgrade so I need to knew if its worth it.

that's a lot of money for an upgrade that you, realistically, wont see if you ever decide to sell it. prop selection can make up for a lot. one of the 14x14 variants from acme or oj would be better $$ imo..
congrats on ordering a new toy..
maybe we'll run into each other around...
My .02. just picked up our 14 LSV last week with the 330 HP. I was worried too if it was enough power for the boat ( we came from a Response w/325 hp). I talked to a few guys and they talked me out of the up grade. Granted we have only had the new boat out once, but I have no complaints. $5600 is a bunch of money. Save it and buy more toys and beer.
Thanks for the input. I'm glad you agree with what I was thinking I'd much rather get a better prop vs. 5600. I need toys and beer for the ladies because everyone wants to be my friend with a new boat!!!
What about upgrading to the 345 surf engine?
2000 for only 15 more horses doesn't seem worth it either
I think it's a bargain. I know of people paying double that with other manufactures. The Mondo is a big boat, loaded with people and weight you will be happy with the extra power. I know on other manufactures the higher horsepower engines burn less fuel, but the break even point on a $6200 upgrade is 1000 hours at today's fuel prices
highly recommend the 345 surf motor, not so much for the 15hp but for the other upgrades Indmar include with it. check Indmar's website for a detailed list.
+1 for the 345 surf motor. It's not just about the HP #.
In my mind, the 345 is the motor the boats are supposed to come with. The 330 is offered as a cost alternative. For what it's worth, I don't think Supra offers the smaller motor.
