Alpine Head Unit Question

Among other things that have gone wrong with my boat in the past week my head unit is dying as well (at least I've known bout this one for a couple of months though). I've been looking at a few different head units from Alpine and think I am either going to go with the XDA-100M or the CDA-118M. I am leaning towards the 118M because of it's 2 zone volume control. That way I can control the volume of the tower separate from the cabin. Yes I know I can do that with other aftermarket things a well but prefer not too if at all possible. I haven't seen to much about the 118M so I am wondering does anyone have any experience with it?
