Man, that was a tough one. Not tough to decide, but it's 85 here today and my hand was so sweaty it kept slipping off the mouse. As soon as the water warms up to around 76 we can head out with our shorties.
pretty terrible today in TX. 73 @7am and high today of forecasted at 85 degrees. terrible cold front rolling in this weekend thou, highs in low 70's

Gonna be a rough day on the water tomorrow here in Texas......
At least mid August we aren't dealing with this.

wear a suit all the way up to 76 degrees?! Do yall Florida folks bundle up with a heavy jacket too when the air temp drops down to 60? ;)
Soon as the water hits high 60's we are in without em! Takes the breath out of ya, but it's doable and refreshing after a long set of boarding!
i prefer a heater top in the high 60s, why be uncomfortable if you dont have to? would be in the water but im tyumen russia still, half way done though, when i get home in 1.5 weeks it will be on!
oh and we still have snow on the ground here. i think we are up there with those canadians as far as latitude and longitude go
I've never actually worn my wetsuit other than to try it on. I'll go out as early as anyone will go with me around here. Last year the water was 62 and air 77 when I started in Feb. This year, no takers so far. We have had warm weekdays and cold rainy weekends so far. Looks like more of the same this week.

Scott Wisconsin was #3 last year.

that was last year. that's all I hear people say. you should have been here last year..
Didn't touch a snow shovel this year and in the past I can count the times I shoveled each year on one hand. Very seldom any ice on the water and in the 100s in the summer with guarenteed no rain from July through August (7" all year). No hurricanes, no floods, no earthquakes but we do have wind on occasion. Just bring money because the cost of homes is high because we never have a recession. Oh yea, I live further north than Minneapolis. Another thing..we have leaking nuclear waste tanks (they have been leaking for decades but don't tell the news people).
^^ That's how we warm up the water. Shhh, oh, I wasn't supposed to.... Nevermind.
This is when I know it's officially Summer!!!!!

I've got a cool video, but can't get it to upload!
Please tell me that's not like just outside your house or property... I can deal with a lot of nasty things in this world, but snakes... You'll find me running in the opposite direction screaming like a little girl.
Ran into this one today while at work! I used to scream and run in the opposite direction until one night at work I had to kill one before he struck at me (had no other choice due to the situation I was in)! Man Vs Wild style with a machete, I was shaking like a leaf!!! I got it mounted and left the fear of snakes behind ever since
Here he is! 4.5 ft with 13 rattlers!

You carry a machete at work? Geesh - tough neighborhood. :p
that would sooo not be in my house. dead or stuffed..
Border town, I would carry a machete at the very least!
man the last rattle snake we killed was down at white river lake in spur, tx and was only likr 12" long. he almost got my grandad though, he didnt see him while he was digging in a 5 gallon bucket for some wood blocks (snake was in the bucket)
OF COURSE!!! That rattle gets my adrenaline flowin errrr time!!! 😅
Man we had ICE on the puddles today. I could really use a stress relief day on the boat.
