Nope, I've used the cheaper one with limited success.. I'm sure I'd lose the remote pretty quickly unless it's affixed somewhere.. :)

Same controller as in your original link, but single color, not RBG. Its divided into three zones: tower/exterior, main cabin and bow.

Damn you for showing this to me. Okay, please add "rewire LED's with RGB's" onto the project list. (okay, it's likely that this might have to wait until I have a V-drive for my next boat). But seriously, I REALLY like how with an RGB system you could change the light color to red or orange when the bugs are out. You could change them to WHITE when you actually want to find something in your boat at night (sorry, but the blue really doesn't help much when digging around in my boat at night). I'm likewise thinking that having a zone for bow, tower, and main cabin would be excellent. I know that there are times when I'd like to shut off my bow speaker grill lights for better visibility when driving at night.Quote:

Thanks Guys, Now I am thinking of LED's on the boat. Bad thing the only time I am out at night is when I am camping so no real need to have LED's but now I want them.
Hehehe... Yet another addiction in the works.
I only get to use them maybe 4-5 times a year on the water but it's still fun and I constantly find myself going "hmm, could add a few more right there...."
Not sure I'd personally mess with sync to music though as I'll bet there would be a lot more complaints from shore with a jamming stereo on the water at night vs during the day at the campgrounds we frequent. On the river where I could care less about the noise the popo would probably equate flashing lights to be "too similar" to an emergency vessel and bust us.
I keep adding more RGBs and have them sync'd to the music, though honestly it is kind of hard to tell but it wasn't that much more.Quote:
