Trailer Hitch Locks
I am planning one night this week for delivery of my 2023 SL. I have to leave it at a storage facility until spring because we are building a garage and it wont be finished for a few months. The individual unit and the facility will be locked, but I also want to put a hitch lock on it. Anyone use a lock on the hitch?
I have used this one on my last boat, but have since misplaced the lock. I still have the keys.

I was also considering something like this.

Get a "U" bike lock. Pull the pin on the swing out tongue. Put that thru the female of the swing away. Then run heavy duty chain through the spokes of the wheels. (You can run the chain through an old bike tube for padding)

Thanks for the idea! I haven't seen you post on here in awhile. I've been lurking for years and am about to join the SC family this week.

Yeah, I got distracted with the Facebook group...

I actually purchased this one for my moomba last night at oreillys https://www.amazon.com/Reese-Towpowe...a-608058677405
Its beefier than the yellow one you posted, which made me feel better. My boat is sitting in my driveway, while my garage is being built, but I wanted a bit of extra security for piece of mind.

Trailer Hitch Locks
Don’t mean to ruffle any feathers with this one but both of those are not worth the $. The yellow one just needs a swift blow with a sledgehammer and it comes right off. I had to do it to my buddies boat once when he forgot the key. Check YouTube there are tons of videos breaking those and a bunch of others off in seconds. While locks are only a deterrent this is what I have for all my trailers. https://www.provenlocks.com/collecti...-coupler-locks
Not cheap I know but very stout and well thought out IMO.
I also like the idea of swinging the tongue out and locking that.

fwiw we had the same yellow one posted and agree with TX statement. it felt cheap BUT we still used it as a visual theft deterrent.
for us the few times I had to park outside uncoupled from the truck we used the yellow one as a visual, used a coupler hitch lock just like this one: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Reese-Brass...r-Lock/3033118 and took the swing tongue pin with us. figured that would stop 99% of those interested. someone would need the time to cut/beat off both locks AND have a swing pin or screwdriver with them. they make locks for the swing tongue as well and honestly I would have bought if we were leaving in a more theft-prone area but felt good with 2 locks.

Trailer Hitch Locks
A surge brake line lock would be ideal theft deterrent.
Even better would be one on a time delay so that the trailer locks up 30 secs after thief is moving it. Would cause chaos in the middle of a street/road and draw attention.

Here is the link to the one for our actual couplers as the link before was just to their selection of locks. https://www.provenlocks.com/collecti...s/model-2178-u
