Can't wait to see what it is!
looks like a new surf system. hope it isn't like surfgate and more like nss or the vx. still no replacement for displacement :)
From what I heard a few months ago a lot depended on what happened with the lawsuit between Nautique and Malibu so I would assume that it is something similar...however birdies have been wrong in the past.
I totally agree that there is no replacement for displacement and who knows how well these gimmicky "systems" will hold up after several seasons of use. That has to be an awfully lot of stress put on that area of the boat. You just can't duplicate 3 years of repeated use during a few months of R&D. Just my $.02 I will remain skeptical...
having seen both but never surfed either, the surfgate system does nothing for me at all. being able to switch side to side on a wake that most I have seen describe as somewhat weak with no push is not appealing. the nss system uses ballast but also some engineering to get more out of the boat. I hope it's more along these lines.
either way, I hope it makes supra a bigger player in the wakesurf game. really doesn't feel like they have been in that arena yet from a marketing standpoint and there's a big pool of $$ out there they should be tapping into..
Can't wait! I've heard REALLY good things!!
maybe a 242 is in the cards!!!
please be retrofit, please be retrofit....
I can't speak too much on this new devise as I promised back in July when I was demoing the SC not to share details.
1 its only for Supra
2 Its only for 14 and up models as a factory option
3 It's only retrofit back to the 13 model
4 It designed to be controlled with the Supra Vision system
I really hope that's not the wave it creates, that is super washy and ruff on top. i do like the length but all that's relavent on camera.
I don't think it's a bad wave at all. lots of roll. I'll be interested to see some other shots with riders on it for some better perspective. wonder if it's "factory" weighted or if we'll see some shots of "real world" weighting. that always makes a difference :)
I'm stoked to see supra pushing surfing...
that made me lol ....
agreed on the official release in two days ...

That would be awesome if its Factory weight and thats the result of the wave.
When we surfed the SA we ran max from the factory and while it was surfable it was still a short wave like you find on the Launch 21. Shorter and Tall, very simular to the LSV with 750 rear and only 400 ski locker.
The SC had hard tank plus 1100 so apx 1350 in the rear and 1000ish up front and that wave was by fare the best factory style wave on an SC boat i have surfed. That wave had more length to it and a lot of push but it still wanted a 1500 in the rear but i didnt want to deal with pulling the Enzo out of the Mojo.
I have heard rumors Moomba will get a surf system but no time line as of yet. Maybe tomorrow's announcement will say something.
I was corrected when talking to my source, and only 14 boats will have the new system and its not retrofit now. Like i said in my earlier post, that was the info from July and a lot can and has changed since then.
Looking forward to the announcement, also looking forward to Evening with the Stars at AWS Friday night. They have a SC on the floor but it doesn't have the surf system.
Just got word they are bring the SC we demoed in July up from Cali for Evening with the Stars, and it will have the Surf system installed. Going to be sweet getting some in person first looks at it and how it works.
I know that boat. Cannot wait to see the system on it. Now think they will mind if we take it out for a few runs before evening with the Stars?
And to think that I get into PDX about an hour after EWS.
Looks like the reveal is at 12:00 central time.
Isn't this surf system similar to the Mastercraft surf tabs?
Seems there are similarities .... Does MC have 2 different styles of surf waves?
Also, do the MC system give the ability to quickly switch sides?
2012 MC X55 tabs-

Don't recall what the controls looked like.
Something about the Supra tab on the bottom edge, aside from the profiled cut, looks different to me?
From the video it looks like you only have two settings for surfing, swell-up and barrel waves. I wonder what this does when you add ballest if you are able to control the surf system to really get the right wave for each rider.
Also it looks like it is only for the 2014 SA and SC's. Guess they want us all to buy a new boat this year.
System looks legit, but I can't wait till spring so i can surf it and see it its as Legit as it looks.
I have seen lots of good looking waves that have no power in it to surf.
Since i have surfed the SC and it does have power, this looks to add the length it was lacking before.
Berg, this system looks to move much farther down and actually be lower then the boat hull. Not like the normal wake plates that only move an inch or two.
don't remember the boat, but this 3-tab system was on either supreme or sanger 3 or 4 years ago. I don't remember if it was offered as an option, but there was a test mule that had pics on the internet installed and tested.
similar to the mc option as well, but wonder how far into the water each setup cuts..
I'm with Mike in that I would want to see/surf one to see what it actually does to the wave.
Wishing there were larger pictures posted to get a closer look.
I believe the 14 hulls have been reinforced to support the pressure that is going to be on the plate

It definitely isn't mounted the same way as the MC, even though they are both tabs. The way the Supra is mounted, it should be able to get closer to a 90 degree angle. The barrel positions look like one side is set to 90.
I've heard great things about the short timing to switch from one side to the other also.
