Thats good oil pressure in my book. Mine doesn't run quite that high but wish it would
That is good oil pressure. I have similar readings on my gauge. However, I don't really trust the actual figures as they may not be exactly correct ( my fuel gauge isn't even close). If the oil pressure ever changes from those reading, I could then worry.
I'm no 'motor head' and was thinking about this the other day too. My boat oil pressure seems to run around 60-70 at speed. The pressure in my 12 yukon runs at a pretty constant 40. Why do boats run higher oil pressures compared to a truck with a comparable engine?
I know they use thicker oil for one, 15w40 is much thicker than 5w20, also your Yukon at speed is probably turning 2,000 rpm vs 3,000 to 3,500 in the boat
