Water is warming nicely here. 82 degrees in one of the sloughs and 79 in another part of the lake. Towed the boat 3 times with the new truck and it’s been great. So much better than my old 5.4 2WD.

This rental house is nuts inside and out. That big boom looking thing is a rope swing!

boat looks great hak... my favorite moomba color....
that rental house looks like a party every weekend house.... not sure I'd want to be it's neighbor :)
Thanks man. We are still loving our Max and the color way!
I’m not even sure they rent it now that I’ve tried to find their listing again on VRBO. Maybe their insurance wouldn’t let them due to possible law suit lol. I did find a video someone put on YouTube when they visited the house.

A couple quick shots…. One pulling out of the dealer for a test of the new ballast set up, and one out on the lake during…. The new 5% tint with UV totally helps the ‘old’ style dash design from melting the IPhone on the charge pad!!

That really makes it look badass!

That color combo looks good with the darker tint.

Pounding beers on the foil what a great day!
If that's on a weekday, it makes it even better!!

It's not the lake, or the boat, but sure is a pretty view and relaxing! Nice little change for a couple of days. Destin Flhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8f5f6e0cf3.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f4af4eadd2.jpg

Pulled the boat back to the ‘home’ area for the summer….
Definitely noticed the extra 1000lb of lead in there but the new (to me) truck worked like a champ!
And now I really notice the guide pole covers look thrashed after one season, anyone know who makes a set that will last longer?

Be careful Dukabor. BC has stricter trailering laws than Alberta. From your pic's it doesn't look like you have the EOH brake package on that trailer.

In addition, you're boat weight is 5200 lbs + 1000 lbs lead + 360 lbs fuel + batteries/gear/speakers/etc. Getting pretty close to the 6900 lbs max for the boatmate trailer.
Be aware and stay safe.
Thanks, and you are right, no EOH, was going to scale the boat and trailer to see where I am at exactly, that was whole dilemma on adding lead and not just going with ballast bags…. And everything adds up when you start loading up….. with the mountain passes around here it’s no joke thats for sure…. Luckily I have a moorage for the summer which is about 20 minutes away so should alleviate the issue of constant trailering (they even have a fuel station!)…. But you are absolutely right on understanding the numbers…. Even on the trucks there is plenty of advertised weight ratings that really dwindle as you start adding gear and people as well!
Edit: just double checked the trailer GVWR and it showed 8200 lbs
Maybe put the lead bags in the back of the truck if you have to tow very far. Especially in the mountains. Less trailer weight pushing you on braking.

I'm really looking forward to trying it but got really frustrated when I couldn't keep it down.

Here's my oldest trying to surf, I can't figure out how to teach them to putt some topside pressure on the board to come towards the wave.
Seeing that rope behind him is giving me anxiety! One wrong fall and it could be nasty. I would for sure shorten that rope so that it’s only long enough to keep him in the sweet spot of the wave.
Nice pics everyone!
Cool they are getting out there. Yea, toes closer to the wave will help a bunch. Most kids scared to move their feet once they are up b/c they do not want to fall. Thus they lean back too much.
When teaching some kids last summer, once I noticed their feet position, I put some blue tape on the front pad and got them to touch it with their toes while riding. Gave them something to look down and aim at.
They will get it with more reps this summer.

I have a t-handle rope if you want to have the kids try it. It has some knots the can grip further up the rope. Some like it, some don't.

Always down to try something new if it will help them out. Wife does the same on the new board. She has her weight on her heels and has a hard time transitioning to getting more weight on her toes.
Then the wave ate me . . . again.

Bad day out
Dont think that one will bang back out. You gotta tell us the story after you've had enough time to be able to talk about it.

Oopsie. OJ will hook you up. Tell them you want the “Scott discount”.

Ouch!
Ive been luck so far (especially on Arrow Lake in BC) which has lots of logging activity and a tug service hauling log booms, part of the reason I got a ‘spare’!
Hopefully you deal with minimal down time!
Bummer about the prop @Mxmark4, hopefully there isn't other damage. Repowering the Sea Nymph, I guess they sell new outboards sans prop... I'm hoping to hijack some waves on the foil board this summer mid week with the kids when the wife is at work. My 12 year old can legally drive it, my 14 year old can legally spot, so we are good to go for some tow sports when we don't have another adult around.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...6f207f07c5.jpg

Went out today and surveyed the complete damage. Gel repairs to the bottom, new strut shaft and rudder coming as soon as dealer opens. I will replace the hard parts and my buddy is doing the gel work. Sucks but it's part of it. Had a drunk buddy causing boat drama and I got distracted. Basically ran aground but the mighty raptor powered thru it. My contribution is to make a weight and rope and a bumper and go Mark the spot. My buddy watched 2 boats run aground out there last weekend prior to me. So this will be my addition to the lake and helping the party patrons of Prater flats stay out of the "flats"
