Very bittersweet day. I just picked up a new snowboard setup for the season as well. Don't get me wrong I thoroughly enjoy snowboarding, but not nearly as much as wakeboarding. Have a good winter season!
80 on saturday and water temps are still almost 70 here....
too many other projects on the map tho.
going down to sema friday to mull around outside and check out the roughly 300 customs that won't fit into the main halls and saturday my date is with a tile saw all morning to cut our new kitchen backsplash tiles.
Put money down and a 2020 Supra SL450 today. Due in March. Super stoked!
Drove and demoed the 2020 SA today. We had 600# of lead in it with two people and the wave was every bit as good as the Ri237 and a bit better than the SL out of the box. If I can mimic that wave with the SL I will never need a different boat! Chose the SL because with our crew the cabin space and head room coming into the boat (tall people) is preferred and I got a decent deal on the 450 upgrade. Drove an 18 SL400 back to back with the 2020 SL400 was sold on the new gear reduction. The auto level in cruise mode and back to dock is pretty cool as well.
Dark Graphite interior. It was a pre-build so outside is currently light graphite with black accent but I'm meeting with them today, boat just got released for production and I'm hoping that because I'm a newbie we can get them to do a change order and do the main and upper accent midnight blue flake. I'll post my build pic once confirmed on the yes or no on the change.
Yeah trying to make the most of it. Scored a killer 4 day deal at Holiday Valley with room, lift tickets, and kids lessons for like $540 with tax. Nuts. So that, and maybe a Tahoe trip (I have a couple customers out there) will hopefully keep us going through the winter! Kids are psyched to get out and rip.
The 2020SA is the best boat out there right now as far as I’m concerned. Wave is fantastic as you saw, and is super tunable.

Since it's the off season (for most of us) i don't feel too bad about posting non-boat stuff. If it breaks the rules someone remove it. Or you know... ignore it.
I guess this kind of applies to the "how do you afford it" thread as well... This summer we shipped a large multi-robot assembly line for an electronic component used in a Hybrid Vehicle's drivetrain; the inverter that makes multiphase (AC) power from the DC stored in batteries and vice-versa. Kinemetrix (my company) has been in the custom automation business for 25 years - I've been here 10 and worked my way from entry level Mechanical Engineer to Engineering Manager! This system has been my baby for the last 18 months and our final customer run is next week. Along side of me being out at the customer finishing it up, our president contracted a marketing firm to throw together some media:

Also here is a link to a trade magazine article about the line as a while:

Hopefully they can get it changed how you want. Usually there is a hard date for no more changes just prior to production state of the build. Your dealer should be able to get that date from Skiers Choice and build sheet with amendments. Best of luck and congrats again!
The gel coat was sprayed yesterday so they are already starting the lamination of the hull. So I didn't get it changed but the good news is that it is still a very classy looking boat. Wife's comment was you don't admire the outside color of the boat while surfing the wave or riding in the boat. Should be in Portland around the first of the year.
Got out on Wednesday for a quick 24hr trip to 85* weather.

That's crazy pricing for airfare, great find and hope you get to enjoy an extended season.
I drove 520 miles one way to SC on Tuesday to winterize the XLV. There was a cold snap and couldn't find anyone to do it. I can't wait to meet up with it in June, permanently! I miss being on this board! Not enough wake time lately.
Anyone see the Tesla cybertruck release? The breaking glass was hilarious.

Not gonna lie, its kinda cool. It might look good pulling my new boat!
Cyber truck is hideous.

Best description I have heard is it looks like something somebody designed in the 80s of what they thought trucks would look like now.
No mention of the interior....assuming that the one pic they have released is largely pre production ... hope it is at least because the Rivian looks much much nicer and ergonomic (just need to see if the Rivian will car seat well in the back since its like 15" shorter than cyber truck and 10" or so shorter than the big three crewcab short boxes). Also saw in the release pics another track parallel with the bed, not angled towards the roof line, and hoping the tonneau cover will be able to go on either track so that there is visibility out the admittedly small window. The rearview mirror 100% must be a camera in this thing.
Something to tempt me 3-4 years from now when the Rams warranty is closing up, but by then should have 4-5 electric truck models on the market. Tesla, ford, gm, rivian, and maybe atlis/bollinger comes through. Love the Ram anyway, even if it isn't 911 fast, she is S-class comfortable and navigator opulent.
The G23 Paragon designer and the Cybertruck designer must sit next to each other because the sharp lines/angles are a good match.
kinda reminds me of what the old 80's lambo lm002 would grow up into.
Still not sure why all designers think a round wheel looks good in front of a square opening.
Hmmm....Armor glass fail and stock prices fall.
I do enjoy a good YouTube video when someone is beating on a car/truck with a hammer.

Yep, nailed it. Pun intended.
I liked this one. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...db27ead82f.jpg

Elon claims 150000 preorders. I think that is fake news to manipulate the 770 million he lost on stock price from the cyber truck announcement failure.
Elon hates short sellers making money on him.

Yeah I am having a hard time with that number as well unless its all like fleet orders for local municipalities. I have seem some people who apparently like it but by far and large I do not think the reception has been very warm but traditional truck buyers.
Some EV specific website put out an article praising it trying to turn the ugliness to a positive basically saying that the shape is what it is because there is no frame and the outter shell provides the structural support, thus why the shape is like a triangle. This brings up two big concerns for me, if the outer shell is strong enough to act as the frame does it lack crumple zones? I wonder how it fairs in a crash test. Without crumple zones to absorb the energy it would seems the occupants would have a less than stellar experience. And also if the outer shell is the frame, how easily is the thing totaled in an accident since any damage to the body is essentially frame damage.
I do crash safety engineering as a profession, airbags specifically, and if some numb nut is claiming it’s shaped like that for structure, they are full of $hit.
Just Tesla fan boys trying to excuse musks mistake.
Let me add, my employer deals with Tesla and Musk is a complete doucher who does not like to pay his bills.
So much needs to change on that prototype before NHTSA will allow it to be roadworthy.
Let’s start with proper headlights and side mirrors to start.
