Hey Guys,
I have a 08 outback v with a stock ballast system. The kiddos are finally interested in surfing and I filled them up for the first time and it seems like every quick connect fitting to the bags has a leak. Is there a trick to sealing those up? Is there a replacement for that O-ring? My OCD freaks out with water just sitting under those bags...
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Try new fittings.
PVC cement would work.
3M is probably he most permanent.
How much water are you getting?
Assume you are keeping the stock bags, most are swapping out stock bags for bigger ones. Not sure about your model.

I was planning on keeping the stock bags for now, Im getting a pretty consistent drip. Maybe a couple of 4 quarts at the end of the day.Quote:

Try putting some Vaseline or silicone grease on the O-rings.
I have also added a little bit of clear silicone.
I like the Vaseline idea....When you did the silicone, was it a pain to remove it?
That's silicone lubricant, not silicone sealant. It would be a better choice than a petroleum based lubricant (like Vaseline) but it's probably a moot point for this application. I also find that these fitting can leak a bit if they have weird torque/pressures applied. I try to get them straight and nothing pushing/pulling on them.
Are the threads leaking, or the quick-connect part? I have used some teflon tape on the threads of the fittings, with mixed results.

They sell the 3/4" port fitting for probably $4-5. The quick release is probably $3-4. Order a pair of each from Wakemakers and see if that helps. Worse case is you have a extra set and are out a few dollars.
Take an O-ring off, go to your local hardware store and match it up. I had some leaking issues and was going to replace O-rings but a little silicone lube took care of it.
I use a dab of white lithium grease on mine but silicone or Vaseline works too.
Well I had enough of the leaks and went full throttle in sealing the fittings. I tried new o-rings on the bags with silicone grease and it still leaked. So I put a dab or bathroom silicone caulk on all the fittings, manifold to bags, pumps to port outs. I’ll probably regret that later this season when removing the bags but Im over the wet carpet. She goes out for a water test to tomorrow....
