Chapter 7 discusses winter lay-up. With respect to the raw water pump impeller, winter lay-up directions first say to remove and replace the impeller if it shows any signs of wear, which is what I have been doing. But in the same three-sentence paragraph it concludes by saying to lubricate the impeller with Vaseline and place in an airtight bag. That's a slight curve ball. Chapter 7 also discusses reactivation after "extended" storage but does not define extended. Step 5 of reactivation says to reinstall the raw water pump impeller. So, maybe I should leave it out for the winter? I didn't last year and everything was fine this summer. What say you? - Deerfield
