I was very pleased with the 550 so far. Fuel consumption was about what I expected. Hoping to try a few props out and see if I can tweak it.

I don’t think so. It’s got a different top side from what I have heard. Intake and cam....what I heard anyway.
It runs very strong. Paired with the 1.76 it’s an order of magnitude beefier than my 440 1.5 was.
Planed a Makai pretty easily with 1700# lead, full gas, 3 guys, and 60% ballast in a 16x16.25 prop.
That really got my attention.

Also have a good pal running a ZX5 2:1 460 and says it’s plenty by a comfortable margin.
Could be a really nice setup for these bigger boats!
That being said, the 575 is an animal for sure!

The g23 surf wave (at least stock) isn't all that. I've surfed a 2015 plenty and it's okay, but my XLV puts out a cleaner surf wave that's taller (but not quite as long) as the G. And I'd say most of the newer Supras easily put out better waves than the G (again, I'm only riding a G with factory ballast).
Now, the G23 WAKEBOARD wake is another story. That wake is legendary. When I ride it I beg him to DRAIN ballast because I don't have my big boy pants on! It's insane.
But DatTexasBoy, your color scheme is amazeballs. I'm not a fan of chrome wheels, but the boat itself is stellar. That would look badass behind my wife's Sterling gray F150!!!
Your F150 would die trying to tow that big beast. My 2017 F250 Super Duty knows that my 18SA550 is back there. With boat and trailer you are at 7,200 lbs plus 450 lbs of gas, 600 lbs of lead, then your are at 8,250 lbs without any gear, full cooler of beer, etc. you can get to 9,000 lbs real quick.
haha. I hear ya. But it would STILL "LOOK" Badass!!! I'm 6250 all in boat and trailer with my XLV so yeah, and extra 1500 pounds would get noticed quick! But hey, I don't like the taste of beer, so look at all my weight savings!!! LOLOL
We were at 14,000 combined truck and trailer and payload for our last big trip. (carrying all of our camping gear + 45 extra gallons of fuel in gas cans + full tank on boat!)
