Kind of shameful but when your wife wants rope lights around the boat house and there is no way to put a ladder up over the water sometimes your Moomba becomes the ladder.

KG has his Goofy side wave dialed, all you new mojo owners need to take notes! Stop adding bow weight!
Yep, I'm finding the ibs is almost a waste unless you have over 1100 on the surf side.
I run the bow ballast about half, same with non surf side

Approx 1100 surf side (as much as she'll take)
Approx 50% of 1100 on non surf side
Approx 50% of factory bow+ibs
Flow approx 80% for starboard and 65% for port
Wakeplate approx 90-100% up
Speed approx 10.8
Dropping weight seems counter-intuitive but it's working for me. I had some guys surf last weekend that normally ride behind a Moomba LSV, had just ridden an NXT22, and got on my boat and commented it wasn't even close ... Mojo for the win by a long shot.
Pics i have handy ...

Everyone with their own board that they love.

Trayson- that picture with your family and boards is amazing. Such a cool shot, glassy water and sunshine.
86 degrees and Sunny = Lake time. Pretty much had the WHOLE lake to ourselves.

A few more pics from our final outing of the summer! We just bought our boat in July and my 9 year-old finally surfed! Look forward to picking back up in the spring. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...a53513cc2c.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...42468c7aa1.jpghttps://vimeo.com/184456699http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...86f0839c51.jpg

Thanks! The wife wanted to get the pic. she was thinking Christmas Cards. I agree.
So, at the end of September we get a day that's high 80's and sunny??? Um, what would you do? Yeah. Us too

The wife got the sunset surf.
http://i1070.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5lqvfmqy.jpg
And Sunset on the water is always magical.
http://i1070.photobucket.com/albums/...psn1rvm49z.jpg
I got the full on night surf. In Oregon you're allowed to ride until sunset. But in WA, you're allowed to ride until an hour after sunset. And when you're on a river that shares a border with two states, the more lenient of the two laws apply. So night surfing definitely happens!
*and no Gill Netters on the water tonight. So that was nice. And I really appreciate the runway lights on the trailer. (they're always a big hit at the launch too).
Hoping we can milk a few more days during October. This weekend is RAIN, so fall in the PNW will soon crush my dreams (until it gets cold enough to snow on Mt Hood).
Great pics in this thread. Makes me want to get back out on the water asap.
I will put up some pics soon.

New board from Soulcraft came last night. Can't wait to get the traction and fins on it and take it for a spin this weekend. Jeff and crew knocked it out of the park. 4'6" HC Pro

Awesome board! Which board is it?
I have 2 boards from Jeff due to arrive this Friday. Can't wait to receive/see them...Hoping to still get out this year to try them out, but it's been a bit chilly.
Here's me trying to land a back roll, the weekend before last.

Stazi you're so close to landing the backroll. I would suggest to speed up a little bit to get rid of the white what your rotation is starting in. This will allow the board to release a little quicker and get your rotation all the way around. What speed are you currently riding at and how much ballast?Quote:

I slow down to 22 to minimize the impact. Most times I'm landing smoothly on the board, but my posture isn't always ideal to ride out of it.

Slow down to 22?? What do you normally ride at? What length are you riding?
I'm surprised your wake isn't significantly cleaner at 22. What's the ballast setup?
Usually ride at 24. That was my buddies XLV. At 24 it's cleaner, but when we slow to 22 it washes out a bit.

PS I ride at 70-75' on his XLV and 80' behind the Craz.

Ahhh, ok. I saw the Craz in your signature and knew the wake could be much better.
How fast do you ride on the Craz?
On your Craz, I bet you could slow down to 20-21 and come in 5 ft until you get the rotation down. Wakeplate all the way up should add more lip like DFTR was mentioning.
You are close!
I'm going to try. But I'm afraid I'm out of time this year.

Speaking of XLV's, we actually changed up the ballast. usually we go from no ballast (slalom) to just the front 1180 for wakeboarding, to over 3k for surfing. But Saturday we went from slalom to surf. then the water smoothed out enough for wakeboarding, so I only drained enough to equal out the sides.
It was a blast with 50% to 60% in the rear 1100's.
I did pop the speed up from 21.5 to 22.

Nearly identical ballast setup and speed .... but the pic below on the newer version of Moomba's 23' boat ....
The two pics are a great visual representation of what I mean when people ask how I like the new boat .... "it's a lot easier to use". Moomba made solid strides in wake consistency.
