It was a good day until this happened. Short on a w2w attempt and landed on my bad knee. In recliner with it on ice.

So we got to spend about 5 hours on the lake today after I left work. While out, I decided to ride tandem with 2/3 of my girls (not at the same time). My 7 year old shot video of me with one of my 3 year olds. The other 3 year old wanted no part of it.
3 notes.
1. The girls had a blast riding with me.
2. Now I really think Jill is on board with getting a GoPro (although probably for Christmas)
3. FAE is awesome. I love the fact that the splashing water is louder than the engine.

Sounds like an awesome time, Matt!
Here are my twins getting ready to hit the water the last time we were out. Ive been trying to get on the boat or snatch lips every chance we get this summer! Heading out to Ray Roberts tomorrow.
Getting ready to surf
Nice choices

Good day at Ray Roberts!
We had fantastic weather this weekend in Northern Wisconsin and got some great skiing in, although we only had one of our 3 sons with us on Saturday. Unfortunately we had battery trouble before we had the chance to try and any surfing ...... but what a fantastic day up North!!
Sorry for the upside down photo - dang my iPad!!
Back at it again yesterday, and I was able to get all 3 kids up tandem at one point.
Here is our dare devil having a blast:

This is her twin. It took a lot more effort to get her up - it really came down to bruit force on my part. You can tell by the Oh S look on her face when we got going:

But after the tears stopped, she realized she was having a lot of fun:

And here is my oldest finally starting to get the hang of it. This was her first time to actually get up on her board:

We all had a blast and can't wait for next weekend - although it is supposed to be a high of 85 on Friday, compared to the 102 yesterday.
On another note - GoPro ordered last night

Pretty good weekend for us at the WWA US Wakeboard Nationals. At the beginning of the year Tyler set a goal for himself to make the final heat in arguably the most difficult and competitive amateur division in wakeboarding at the Nationals and Worlds.
He hurt his ankle almost 8 weeks ago and has only been able to get back riding 2 weeks ago but it's still sore specifically taking off on toe side spins or landing switch heel.

He made it through to the final but there was a miscommunication with the boat driver on his speed and they pulled his first pass at the previous riders speed which was too slow. It would not have been a problem but he was now shooting for a podium spot a stepped up his run with more difficult tricks and ended up falling twice in his run.

He ended up 5th in the final and now we begin practice for the Nautique Wake Open in August and the Supra Worlds in September.

Awesome pics! Look like they are right out of Wakeboarding mag.
Made it out 2 days in a row. That's almost a record...

One of the weirdest boats on the river this weekend. The guy in there is easily 6ft tall - we saw them run by several times and were at the launch right behind them. Not sure what the school of thought was on the 9ft tower.

I always find this one amusing. For all the complaints about the built-in coolers that suck, this is probably 3 hours into an 85 degree day...

Actually saw a handful of Moombas out that I haven't before. A dk green LSV, an all white Liquid Force Edition XLV that was beautiful, an older red 2003ish LSV, a black/white/blue Mojo full of women - not a guy in site but lots of them willing to help when they pulled up to the dock!
Ice would have been water in the old (removed) LSV cooler. "Tag a long boyfriend": "Um, sorry-- the throttle is sticking a bit today."
Berg... those of us without built in coolers couldn't dream of complaining about them.
I was thinking it was just installed wrong and the guy refused to redo it.... I like the ladder idea!
Double selfies at 35mph - that may be a first!

Proud dad here. This is my 6 year old son. He's only been boarding since mid June. Progressing fast.
Very cool. My 7 yr old is wanting to learn also and I found a place that gives lessons 45 min from our house. Going to sign him up for a few and see what he thinks. Congrats
That's awesome Shane - little dude's tearin it up!
Thanks Berg. We bought him the board for Christmas and in June we were at Ouachita and everybody on the boat had been wakeboarding. He said "daddy I think I want to try" so I put him on the surf rope to get him up and the rest is history. I'm in awe every time he gets out there because his progression is crazy fast. He's going to need some real lessons ASAP.
Spent an hour+ last night exploring a new area only to find weed covered shallows, creepy looking shantys, and dead heads at every halfway decent looking spot. Then hauled ass upstream to our usual island beach. Nice night but rough for much of anything besides chillin.

My shadow - He was happy to go, but just doesn't have it in him anymore. Can only swim a little, no climbing or jumping, can barely shake the water off without falling down. Poor old guy.

Found a smouldering fire and the boys stoked it up without too much effort.

Not bad for a DIY led and murky river water!

Shane, nice work with the little guy!
My son tried out a wakeboard for the first time on the cable when we were at TSR for the wakesurf comp. He likes telling people about his faceplants and how his mouth bled. We had to drag him off the thing when they were closing up at 10pm.
Thanks Drew, Yeah, he will burn through half a tank a day now. He will ride until he cannot hold on to the rope any longer. He's going to force me to upgrade sooner than I wanted with all the hours we are racking up... :o I guess its not a bad problem to have.
Nice Shane. Im pulling Kira at about 19 right now, up from 15. She never said a word about the speed increase and will ride until the boat stops....then holds onto the rope while we drag her in!

Here's some pics of my two teenagers from last weekend (sadly none of my better half since she is always on photographer duty) and me doing what I do best -- driving the boat!!

Huh. There's most certainly spots to beach on the Island. I've actually beached there before. More towards the downstream side. It does get shallower at the tip of the island by the Port, but we had a reasonable amount of beach when we tried it.
There was actually another boat out there surfing last night proving that I wasn't the only person nutty enough to be surfing the chop.
