I'm jealous of all of you who are still boating. We're definitely done for the year up here. It was a frosty 21 F (-6C) this morning, time to get the snowboard out I guess. Attachment 18664Attachment 18665
Yeah weather is still nice for sure. Water is definitely cooling off due to the chilly nights. Water temp in Saturday was 75. Still felt pretty good. Unfortunately with work schedules and too much going on right now I won't be able to use it as much and the rest of the fam are a bunch of whimps and won't come out on the cooler days/water temps. I have another buddy who will still be out so I'll just tag-a-long on his XStar.
It's lake Houston I live in Crosby

We went out on Tuesday night and I cheated on my Supra for a Tige V-drive. It was a great night. 59-60 degree water temp, about 65 air temp that dropped quick. Started on my buddy's houseboat, no trailering needed.

Stole the wife's truck and brough the boat with me to work. Was off work, changed, moved the boards into the truck, and drove to the launch in 15 minutes. Did a leasurely solo launch and had the boat tied up and the truck parked before I'd been off work 30 minutes.

Under 15 minute boat ride to our favorite spot. 1 wake set and 2 surf sets in before darkness was starting to set in. Water temp was 60 degrees still. Air temp today was a high of 65. by the time the sun went down, I was wearing a light jacket and had the bow walkthrough blocked off and was using the heater on my feet.

15 minute boat ride back to the launch on smooth water by an almost full moon. Another 15 minutes home with a quick stop to see what it cost me...

All in all a good night.
woke up to this in MN this morning.. whoohoo..
http://i527.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps232755ee.jpggot out this morning around 10:30, had the lake all to ourselves. Got home about 12:30 and gave her a wipe down and pulled all the ballast bags out to let her dry out for the winter. Hope to hit the lake Jan 1st and maybe get a mod or two done before that.
Very nice Stacy, is that a wetsuit I see on the sun deck?
Unfortunately no boating pics as boat is winterized and put away for winter, but the Fall colors are in full bloom.

Was very nice of her as i was the only one surfing, she had someplace to be later on and did not want to get wet.
no wetsuites, my life jacket on the board, wife and kiddo's life jackets on the back seat. think the high was about 85, maybe 87. water was still kinda warm.
where the jealous button!!!!

Nice, but what's up with the cover half peeled back? My first thought was did you walk down and find it like that?
(My mind is in guardian mode since my motion detector alarm went off about 3am last night)
I found it like that but it was from the wind. It is a trailerable cover over the bow snap on cover.
I worry about the boat WAY more now since reading through your story!
Made it out yesterday but didn't take a whole lot
of pictures.
Gear loaded and ready to go

We ran into our buddy Cole Clements at the dock when we were launching and he was planning to go get his 242 but then decided to just hitch a ride with us on the LSV. He is a Rinkers boat world team rider and can really throw down. Was a blast to watch him ride and it's unreal how much air he can get behind my boat when I sometime struggle getting w2w haha. Didn't take any picture of it tho, kind of wish I didn't forget the camera.

Cute li'l bitty gator.
I can see it now - you zoom in with the camera to see binding laces hanging from his teeth...
Kicking myself for having winterized already. Beautiful weather out here in the PNW.
Braving the pumpkin patch and corn maze (along with 400,000 other people who had the same brilliant idea I swear)

Can you tell which one I did?

Little fall color near my office. (and playing around with panorama on the iph5) That one row of trees in center does the full spectrum from green to yellow to gold to orange to red to brown to dead.

That's no excuse. You know you could be going out with me today...

Stole the wife's truck again, drove it to work and we'll be meeting at Portco shortly after I get off at 4pm.
Just sayin'
I have to say that the best tree color in the County are right at my office at work. They are American Hornsbeam trees and they are some of the first to change, and they always go QUICK, all their leaves were gone a week ago...
Here's a pic from a prior year:

Got off work at 4pm. Changed clothes, transferred boards from truck to boat, drove to launch. At launch by 4:15pm. Boat launched, tied up to dock, truck parked, and back at boat by 4:30pm.
Enjoying a cold one waiting for the wife and my buddy...

Are you Nuggin Futs rdLangsdon13? Are you serious you guys jump into the river with those things swimmin' around? I don't have balls big enough for that.
Haha they don't really swarm, in fact during the summer months when the water is warm enough that they don't need to sun you hardly ever see them. Early spring and when you get into the fall is when you start running into them up on the banks trying to warm up. They don't bother you but it makes you wonder where they go when you see them crawl off the bank and sink...

They are nocturnal feeders. You have to really pi$$ them off during the daytime to get them to even take a nibble.
You mean like go roaring by spraying and splashing and making noise?
Nah, they sleep right through that. Just don't step on one while you are taking a walk on the bank. Nobody likes getting stepped on.
And there are ecosystem down here is thriving. There is so much for them to eat that humans don't need to be in the menu

A few pictures from last week at Lake Powell.... At the end of this canyon we found this awesome little sand island about 1-2 ft below the water so we pulled the boat up, cranked the music and played around. We threw around the football and frisbees for an hour or two and enjoyed the beautiful canyon walls surrounding us.
Cool shots. Jealous button!
