You guys have a fun and safe time now. Lots of pics, OK??
Is there a spot along the river to beach up and hang out while were not riding?
On the actual river, not really. Maybe one place close to a rock cliff - I'm sure David knows where I'm talking about and will show you. While the river is wide and you could chill in the middle, not too many people do. But you can - we have before.
The best place to tie up is in front of Bethy Creek (Before you take the cut to the river). There is a 'no wake bouy' with about 4ft of water where we all like to tie up at. Perfect spot. We will be sure to point it out.
Speaking of tie ups, for those that can link up their systems, bring your cables!
For all of those getting there early (Thursday/Friday Morning), David will show all of this to you. We will also point them out again when we head up Saturday morning.
When I get there I would like to grab a few peoples numbers so on Saturday amongst all the riding, etc I can get in contact with a few of you and let yall know when we are going to go tie up, etc.
I will post my number to the event FB page so anyone can reach me.
Cody
New update. JT Nettles from Nettles Propellera will be out Saturday and will have a bunch of props for people to demo or buy.
We owe Dusty a big thanks for this!

Also about the tie up, the cliffs Cody is referring to is about 1/4 mile up river from the Bethy Creek cut. There is a spot in the river where there is a hard 90 turn and it's like 50 ft deep and plenty wide to have people tied up and still allow boats to pass. No places to beach however. If you like water shallow enough to touch then the best place is the sandbar at bethy creek. Fear not those of you who don't beach your boats, it's deep enough to where you wont drag bottom but shallow enough to stand up and toss a football around

Stuffed all I can in the backpack. Seeya all soon!

Haha, now you can test it in your boat! Mines a little noisy, not bad just a little and I think it's due to the alignment from a semi messed up motor mount

I'd like to try out a 5 blade and see if it can deliver the same holeshot at less rpm. I have a 14.75x13 currently.
Guess I'll admit i'm headed to Texas to the jam since Brian has already told every person who has called us today
I knew you were fibbing!

Its gonna be close on who travels furthest. I'm leaving rochester, ny in am. Fly to Nola, drive to Mississippi get boat. Drive to baton rouge sleep at house. Drive to bethy...
This is the water 50 yards outside Bethy. Pic was taken at GCWA Spring Round Up earlier this year. Attachment 15723
I plan on heading there around 3-4pm for tie up
I am absolutely thrilled at seeing all the people coming from such long distances! I never would have thought this would climb to being so big. Now I see the progress this has made and realize the sky is the limit. I am really looking forward to this event, I may not even sleep!
To all of you coming from out of state, hundreds of miles, and the locals, etc, myself and David deeply Thank You for all coming together to make such an awesome event happen. We hope that everyone enjoys this years event and can only hope it will grow even bigger next year.
Today the shirts arrived and everything looks to be in order. I can't wait to hand these out. (THANKS TO SKIERS CHOICE FOR SPONSORING THE SHIRTS!!)
I also had the opportunity to stop by Rinker's Boat World to hand out some shirts and I got a chance to see the boat that they are bringing to the Jam - a Red Launch 22! Completely decked out!
In advance I would like to thank the following:
Skiers Choice - You are the reason for this event. You provided us the boats of choice and this is our way of celebrating that. As well as sponsoring all of the shirts for the event. Rick & Amy at Skiers Choice are top notch!
Exile Audio - Brian is not only donating some expensive equipment(ZLD, Exile Balls, etc) for raffle but he is also making the flight from Oregon to attend the event. This effort says a lot for a Vendor/Customer relationship. (Try not to work too much and enjoy the trip Brian!)
Rinker's Boat World - One of the nations largest Skiers Choice Dealers! They are donating a CWB Wakeboard for Raffle, numerous gift cards with values of $50, $100, $100, $250! Also, they are bringing a completely loaded out Supra Launch 22! 'Official Towboat of the Texas Jam'?? Hmmm...
Bethy Creek Resort - One of the nicest places to stay with a perfect location on the water and access to Trinity River - the butter of all butter. This place is top notch as far as location, cabins, access - oh, did I mention the CABLE PARK? With LIGHTS?? Yeah.
Bring your drinks of choice, sun screen, boards, sunglasses and lets have a great time! Let's show all the other reunions just how BIG things are here in Texas!

Thanks,
Cody
Dang it! I thought about it and have the miles but am just a little busy this week. Dang it, dang it, dang it!!! Maybe next time. Had no boat ride lined up either. Oh well.
So is this event every year at Bethy
Chris, this is only our second year and so far it has been at Bethy every year. I just can't seem to think of a better place that is as accomidating as Bethy Creek. I everyone has a blast I figure we will keep having it here

Gonna be a great weekend with an even cooler crowd. I'm so very disappointed that I could not make the trip. Everyone have 1 or 2 for me and enjoy the hell out of yourselves
Sent from my home phone..
Petty,
I'll have 3 for ya! Wish you could have made the trip.
We will be there Saturday. Not sure on time yet but plan on being there noonish.
Well dusty already made us all look bad on a wakeboard tonight! Has an awesome first day!

It's mighty quiet. They must be having a blast.
Yeah where all the pics David? Don't tease us with lame chatter..
Well it's a last minute go for launch, but I'll be there tomorrow around lunch. Bringing my 13 year old kid & her friend (and so the tube:() and my folks (in their late 60's - but each bringing their own slalom :)). Old boat & old crew - may have to slap a temporary "Old School" name on the transom.
Is there room for parking at Bethy or should I just put in at HWY 19 bridge? I've got a flop house on the lake in case we decide to stay. Anybody need me to pick up anything on the way?
Silence. Chirp, chirp, chirp.
You can cruise bethy and see but it's pretty packed here, I'm sure there are still some spots to park though. Pictures will be posted after the event since I'm spending all my time on the water and socializing!
