Why not invest in some cable locks and lock the boards to the racks when you do that? They are cheap and offer some peace of mind.

The boards are just held onto the cargo bimini with bungees, and onto the overhead racks with nylon webbing. Unless there was a hole through the surf boards I couldn't really secure them anyway. (the surfboards don't have holes in them and the wakeboards on there were closed toe bindings).
Maybe could secure the foil, but I guess I'll just have to hope that it's public enough that people won't try to steal stuff. And obviously keep good insurance!!!!!!!!!
I really don't dock and leave gear all that often. And with my current setup, I would have had the ability to put my surfboard/wakeboard in one locker, the wife's surfboard and my slalom ski in the other. Then I can put the Ronix surfboard and at least 1 or 2 other boards in the basement locker. so if I was more worried about it, I'd start stowing gear in lockers out of sight.
You can use two locks and lock the board from the front and back so you can't slide it off?
Another option is drill a hole in the fin and run a cable through there.
Just thinking out loud.

Yeah, If I was that worried, I'd likely put more thought into it. The best move in this case would have been to stow boards in lockers. I could have dropped my exposure from $4500 to $1000 or $500 or even $0 by putting EVERYTHING in lockers that I could fit in lockers and getting stuff out of sight.
As it was I just pulled the keys out of the ignition and went and got a juicy food cart burger with some tasty shoestring fries! Nom, Nom, Nom.
You're more brave and/or trusting than I am!

I worry a bit even sitting outside where I can see them. Progressive has a really inexpensive rider to cover that stuff. Thinking about getting it but probably won't.
The key has never been out of the ignition of my boat.
