tucked my boat away in a slip at a friend's marina so I could do the trailer work with no boat on it.

New Torsion axles and new trailer bunks. went with blue carpet.

Sunday evening we went out and I actually FINALLY nailed my first 360 that I was able to ride out. It felt so good to have accomplished it. And on my Doomswell Nubstep even. No skim boards here. (okay, they didn't get a pic of me doing the 360, but I still thought this was a cool shot)

Then we were chillin' on the river and a couple guys on a barge that was docked at the shore hollered at us.... "Do you want Ice Cream?"
I was confused and not sure I heard them right. "Ice Cream?" I shouted back at them. Sure enough they gave the 4 of us in the boat some tasty ice cream drumsticks when we nosed up to the barge! That was awesome!

And then caught the sunset behind us as we drove home.

Yeah of course. I've NEVER heard that comment before. *flipoff*. My wife was driving and my 12 year old was in the boat. I've been trying all summer with a handful of completed rotations but not riding it out, so figures no one was taking video. I've gotten bored with the same gopro vids of me surfing (because really what all that 'new' happens with surf sets at our level these days???)
I know I did it, and it was super rad to be able to share in the moment with my wife and son who saw it also. That's all that matters. I'll do another one eventually, maybe that will be on video for you guys in the peanut gallery! LOL
BTW Berg, have you every been able to ride one out yet? I remember the "old guys 360" thread from years back! I'd assume you've nailed a few.
After 4,782 attempts over the last 6+ years - no. No joy.
The latest attempts this past weekend resulted in a lost pair of sunglasses and a slew of profanity that would make a sailor blush.
I've given up riding with my sunnies. I even have a pair of floating Bomber sunglasses as well as lots of disposable ones I have gotten at ski shows and the like. But I MUST MUST MUST have my surf hat. (foam trucker hat that floats is winning!)
It felt great, and hopefully will be repeatable. I even timed it perfectly to the music. the song was "Mic Drop" by Steve Aoki and I was surfing at the back of the wave as the intro was building and then nailed the 360 right at the drop! Yaaaaaasssss!!!
Congrats! I’m so f’n close to riding out a 360 it’s pissing me off.
Had a good weekend on the water , had my brother and his wife out and got him in one a couple of surf sets. And got the oldest back on the board, after she watched her dad land 3 back to back she decided to try it again. Got in some more training too.

[QUOTE=jcarter20;330392]Still new to this forum thing. Not sure what I did there, but I had the same thing happen this weekend. Had 12 people on the boat this weekend, 5 of which were kids. Cameras and video was the last thing on anyone’s mind. I finally nailed a 360, after a year of trying and no one had a camera out. I almost got two in a row, but buried the nose. My wife at least got that on video. After that, the kids were starting to meltdown and I had to quit. Oh well, maybe in the August thread, I can post a clean video.

went out again this evening. Boat full of kids. Got some strides made on wakeboarding for 2 of them. My kid had a fun wakeboard session. I had a great wakeboard set throwing some tricks in front of our friend's boat. My buddy took a fun wake set. The wife surfed. Another kid got up and had a legit lineride. And then it was time for the last person to surf. I gave it throttle to pull her out of the hole and SNAP I had nothing. I thought I might have lost my prop??? But when we put on the dive goggles and took a look, we found the prop was against the rudder. Pulled the v-drive cover and saw that I'd snapped my shaft near the coupler. Damn.
The previous owner had a rock strike that did in the shaft, prop and required some hull repair about a year before I bought it. But it was all repaired at his Moomba dealer under insurance.
Hadn't hit anything. prop was in good shape visually. Didn't have any noticeable vibrations. I'm pretty sure my prop shaft coupler nuts were tight (I'd checked them within the last month or two). However, I'd never done my own shaft alignment and this is my 4th summer with the boat. (I've never done it on this boat but did it on my last one). Anyway, I'll be getting it fixed ASAP. But it's been the summer of breakdowns. Luckily the prop shaft specialty shop is 50 miles from home. I'll be calling them in the morning.

Hey trayson,
Fins in or out? Trying on my nub step with no luck. Have fins in and have gotten 180 but then all shit hits the fan after

That's some good insight Josh.
FWIW, I use a 10mm rock/ice climbing rope as my anchor and "tow" line. It's incredibly stronger than the crap that most marine stores sell for this purpose. WAY stronger than ski or tube lines. Think of it like your spectra wakeboard line, but 10mm thick! And my attachment to the bow loop was with a rock climbing D-ring carabiner that's rated at 29 KN.
I'm not saying sh** can't happen. But I do use gear that is way stronger than most people have in their boats.
I ride with just the big two fins on my board. They are the John John Grom fins, which are a little looser and faster than the F2 and f3 fins I used to ride. Yep, I've been working it with the bigs fins still in place.
