Had my first cable park experience yesterday. It was fun (until I realized just what I did, more on that later).

So where the evening took a turn for the worse, is when we went to drive home and my phone was gone. I searched everywhere and no luck. when I got back to the house, I did find my phone and it got nothing. my timeline of destinations showed me at the cable park, but after about 15 minutes nothing... Then I saw the picture my wife snapped just as I went out on my first run. Yep, when we paid, I stuck my phone (with my Driver's License, Credit card, and a $5 bill in the case) in my back pocket of my board shorts and didn't realize it was still in there when I launched out into the lake.
If you look at the pic my wife took, you'll see that outline of my phone in the back pocket. The last time it was seen before it ultimately ended up at the muddy bottom of the cable park lake.

On Tuesday we went out on David and Cody's boat (David's wife and awesome son were stand-in's for David). Had a great time dialing in their regular wave. Had a great time. Thanks so much for having us out.

Was able to get out on the new board for a set. 2 hour window turned into about 40 mins. Got the the end of my first run to look back to black sky. Got back just in time to cover the boat before the sky opened up.

Finished out our Skier's Choice "tour de Houston" with an outing on Cactus371's new SA. The freeboard of the new boats is just massive. and the interior of the 22.6 foot is just as big as our 23'.
We got in a few surf sets on Lake Houston, and then saw the storm in the distance. We tried to motor to a different part of the lake, but two storms sandwiched us in the middle. Our only real choice was to ride out the storm. We really liked that freeboard, but even then, with over 3' swells, there were times where we took waves of water over the bow. We actually all put our life vests on (for me it was warmth and a little padding from those big rain drops that were coming in sideways. We were never really scared (though I probably should have been when water came over the bow and washed empty beer cans into the main cabin floor!). And we sure laughed a lot (easier to do when it's not my boat). Eventually the storm blew through and we were able to surf again. The water even smoothed out enough for me to throw the wakeboard on and show them my epic crashing skills (that wake was a little bigger than I was used to).
Since my phone was at the bottom of the Cable Park lake, I didn't really take any pics. THe wife snapped this one as we were running away from the storm...

I was kicking myself because I forgot I had the GoPro with me on the boat and could have got some rad storm footage.
Props to the Supra SA. it handled the chop/swells like a boss. Huge thanks to Cactus for a fun day on the lake!

So we flew home from TX on Tuesday and had the boat loaded up and his the road Wednesday for 2 nights on Lake Mayfield in WA.

The wife didn't waste any time and jumped on for an evening set and was really happy to be back on her own Doomswell (after riding 4 different boats/4 different Doomwells in Texas).

The Next day we had the water all to ourselves from 9am until almost noon. Yes, it was cloudy with temps starting in the upper 50's and water temps in the mid to upper 60s. But it was like having a private lake. The wife tried out my John John Grom fins and liked them a lot. I'm going to either have to share or get her a set for herself!

But my son's favorite part was both yesterday and today a few fighter jets flew over the lake pretty low and it was a sight to see. Yesterday we saw 3 and they were just too fast to get a picture of. Today we got lucky and I got the phone out quick enough. They were fast, loud, and sounded like FREEDOM!
