I think I have the Firestone bags. 300 or so but I didn't do onboard air. Probably would if I did it again

I had air bags on my last 3 trucks but this time I am going to go with Roadmaster Active Suspension.
With up to 40% over load I shouldn't get any squat.
I've been waiting for a friend with an almost exact same truck but a 21 Malibu to install his so I can compare. The more and more I research on this system though the more and more I like it.

Here are a couple of old threads on this topic. Most of us love them.

bags on the last 2 trucks myself, splurge and get the compressor too, just makes it easier to adjust on the fly, think both mine where firestones
For one you are sopposed to have better handling when loaded.
It also helps with axle wrap and wheel hopping under heavy acceleration. Air bags dont help this.
When your unloaded you have a quality factory style ride. Air bags will always make the rear end feel slightly harder over bumps
When I load the boat and truck I don't have to adjust the RAS. Its a set it and forget it system.
Not that I don't like air bags, as I do, just want something I don't have to fool with.
Thanks for all of the details guys, sorry to hijack the thread though!
Anyone with experience on weight distributing hitches?

I've read on the f150 forums that it lifts the back 1" but don't see any mention of this on any you tube videos or on the RAS website. What's Vince say?
And did he measure drop from his boat before and after install?
Your truck shows the drop more since you did the leveling kit, mine sits so ass high it would probably be close to level with my boat. Just trying to get an idea about this RAS before I pull the trigger on bags.
My plan now is to do a lift, put an add-a-leaf in the back along with blocks and add bags so I can level it no matter how much weight I have. I just want it level lol!
Vince is who I'm waiting on but hes waiting for good weather on a Saturday. That could be months here LOL.
Yes I think my leveling kit in the front makes the back look much more saggy then it really is.
Only thing I have read from the <Chevy forum> was it raised a guys truck 1/2 inch but after a few hundred miles it rested to 1/4 inch. He was concerned because he lowered his truck and this was raising it slightly.
Vince said he gets a 2inch drop on his truck with the boat. This makes since as I know the Mojo is more nose heavy then his boat.
Can you find out how much lift he has too?

It's Christmas at Les Schwab today! My truck is about to grow up.
You getting it leveled?
Vince got his RAS installed, mine is at the house, going to do it Monday.
He said it lifted the rear about 3/4inch and with his boat he is seing just under 2inch drop, so really about 1 inch from the stock height.
I ordered a soft tonnaeu cover, and a bed rug for mine, hope it shoes up soon lol.
Damnit they have to reorder the wheels so it's gonna be a few days...
Wanted to post a couple updates.
I installed the Road Master Active Suspension System.
It raised the rear of the truck about 1 inch.
I still get a 3 inch drop when I hook up the boat but the truck looks more level then it used to.
I am a little disapointed I get a drop but I guess this is part of the design.
I will say the Ride is great. You get no bouncing over bumps, the truck feels very stable in turns, and when unloaded the truck rides very nice. It has a lot less body roll in corners no also. I am how ever thinking of adding Air bags still. I need to talk to Air Lift and see what they think and make sure its not counter productive to the suspension I added.
I have also added a low pro bed cover, its the soft roll up style and the Bed Rug. Didn't take a picture of the bed rug.

Looking good Mike. I got mine cleaned up today after I put my lift on Sunday. I picked wheels that won't be out for 2-3 months and went with a lift Les Schwab doesn't sell so I had to install it myself. It's a Auto Spring 2.5" with rear add a leaf.

Nice, Yesterday I took the RAS off, readjusted it. It has 4 adjustment bolts that go under under the leaf spring at the axle, I was on the farthest forward, moved it back to the 3rd closest to the axle. Now i am only getting 1.5inch of drop when I load the boat on.
Looks better.
whats so bad about a little drop when the boat is hooked up
Nothing when its a little, but when its 3inches and I don't even have people or gear in the back lol.
Also Moomadaze I think you asked about the bed cover? Hasn't leaked a drop. Worked perfectly and my mileage seems to be getting better, been getting 18 pretty consistently since I installed it. Might be the fact the rear of the truck is higher then the front now by 1 inch like factory.
Just a little update on this Ecoboost.
Took it to Lake Billy Chinook over the 4th, I was really impressed with the power this truck really has. We had 5 adults, all our gear for a 3 day trip, including 200lbs of ice in the big cooler. Boat was loaded with coolers and gear from everyone.
Truck pulled no problem at all. We went up the mountains, down the mountains, around the curves and it performed great. At no point going uphill did I ever feel like i needed or wanted more power. Truck pulled strong uphills and easily would hold 60-65mph. Going down hills the Tow/haul was working better then my diesels did in reguards to it would just down shift automatically, I didn't have to touch the brakes.
Turbo Lag is noticeable when you leave from a stop for about 2 seconds. At least in my truck, when you hit the gas you feel the V6 as it rolls off the line but when it hits 1500 rpm and the turbos boost up, its literally a rush of power and the truck just pulls like a mule.
Only time I really noticed I dint have the big diesel power was passing people with the boat in tow. I could 80 passing but much more then that and she seemed like she would be wide open.
My diesels would pull the boat at 90 no issues but you not really comparing even engines LOL.
Milage was as expected, 9 going up to LBC, 10 coming home.
F350s would get 10 up and 11 down so overall not bad.
Fuel cost was more with the F150 and the fact that our Gas Prices have equaled or passed Diesel prices isn't helping.
In December gas was 3.20 and its not 3.95 and diesel has been steady 3.85 the entire time.
When not towing my Eco still gets 17-18.5 per tank. I am mixed driving, 40 miles highway speeds to work and 20 city for a total of 60 miles round trip per work day. Good thing I only work 14 days a month LOL.
