Was hoping you would say Florida :)
Finally just ordered 500 lbs for my 2015 Mondo. Can someone give some good advice for where the best place for the 10 bags. I realize on surf side but I have heard all in back and I have heard some in back and some in middle. And also heard some in the front.Do you guys put them under the sacs in the rear compartments or just forward.?
I realize it is trial and error but just looking for some place to start.
I also talked to Spencer at wakelife. Very friendly and expects me to receive shipment in 3 weeks. Fingers crossed!!!
YouTube wake9 video on where to put lead. Great starting point
Depending on how many people you have with you. On our Mondo, we typically surfed with 3-5 people. With 5, put all 500 in the bow and have people sit on the the surf site. Ballast full, wakeplate 0-25 %. Start with ~ 11mph. Try to stay 9-10° pitch. If too high, move some to bow or speed up a little. If too low, reduce wakeplate.
If 3 on the boat, I would put 350 in bow and 150 on Surfside i.
If the boat is full you may need 2-3 people in the bow.
Now, I weight 245#'s. As a newer surfer not good at pumping, this was the only setup to give me enough push to surf.
For my kids - 150 & 180#'s, I would go a bit faster and extend the packet a bit.
On the shallow part of the lake we would slow down closer to 10 to get push, but wave was mushy.
Hope this helps:-)
Do you have Integrated bow system? We have 550 lbs in sac in bow and 650 lbs in hard tank mid ship. 500 more pounds in front seems like a lot. The bow already rides low in water with that much weight. I appreciate the advice. We have 2 teens that have no issue with wake. I'm at 180 pounds and can surf but very close to boat. Would definitely like to shorter the wave but extend the length. I guess more weight in the front would do that.
Go faster![emoji16]

Ordered lead on Aug 8th and USPS picked it up today, Aug 27 for delivery. Who knows how long for USPS to deliver but fast processing on wakelifes part. Order was ready for pickup 2 weeks after I placed it.
Hoping it makes difference. Talk with professional surfer and he recommended 300 lbs on surf side and 200 lbs on the other side just forward of rear sacs. He said my boat needs slightly more list
than others.
Finally got out and tried the boat with 500 pounds of steel shot. OH MY GOSH. it's a completely different boat. The kids have never had an issue surfing but I had trouble with creating enough push. I had absolutely no issue with surfing with the additional weight. Would have never ever thought 500 pounds could make such a difference. Kick myself for not buying the weight sooner. Always had a tall enough wave, just not enough push. Anyone having this issue, buy some weight and place it mid ship. DISCLAIMER. I have no vested interest in any lead or steel weight bag companies. Hope this helps so.eone as much as it helped me!!!!!
I placed an order a month ago on 20 wakelife bags.
After 3 or 4 weeks I called and they told me that USPS usually is the issue and that USPS must toss them or lose them.
Nice guy I talked to we chatted a bit and I joked about how I should start selling lead because USPS has to pay for most of it which keeps sales way up.
6 bags have arrived now and I texted their support number with the update. They texted right back that they are calling USPS and hope to have my remaining 14 bags to me by early next week.
I will add a fellow moomba on my lake has 10 of the bags so I knew they were legit.
Also for anyone in SE Michigan Club Royale keeps leadwake in stock and has pallets of it.
I felt really bad for the poor USPS delivery person who had to put 500 lbs of lead on my front porch, which requires a walk up 10 stairs.
The post office wouldn’t deliver to my house. I had to go to the local post office to pick them up.
